Homelessness is an American problem.

It all has to do with income and wealth inequality...and those are not contained within partisan lines exclusively.

It's happening everywhere, yes. But not to the extent that it's happening in Skid Row. The most liberal, if not progressive, and most likely richest state in the U S of A, should not have a town's worth of homeless people and have its population steadily move into city pop territory. Clearly whatever liberal policies they got over there are failing hard.

It's like that in NYC too.
Not the tent cities, more like the failure of liberal policies and the failures of neoliberalism to create such devastating income and wealth disparity that creates homelessness on such a massive scale.

Gentrification plays a very huge part in that as well, and that's been a phenomenon that's been happening almost exclusively in progressive and liberal cities.

I've been trying to stress this to the board...but people on this forum are fake as fukk and pretending they don't get it to position themselves higher than homeless people...even though they're probably a few missed paychecks or one away from sleeping in their car.

When i was homeless, people made fun of me on this board to make themselves feel better.

Real talk and I worked in Skid Row at a mission 15 years ago. When I visited LA last year, I was shocked to see more encampments outside of Skid Row. Literally every underpass and overpass on the 110 and 101 had a tent city

Yeah it’s a rack of homeless people. DC got a few but the shyt I seen in LA was ridiculous. Makes sense tho, it’s nice weather so much easier to be homeless there than in a cold weather city.
