There is - it's called accountability. We as citizens (gulp!) must vote out those responsible for failing (or unwillingness) to address basic quality of life issues.
I drove down Venice Blvd today and was shocked at the distopia. It is not humane for the homeless or me as a taxpayer to allow this decay of civilization. Garcetti and the City Council should be jailed.

There’s no one person you can vote out to fix this. Especially in a country where housing is a commodity in a market vs a basic human need.

The housing market needs complete reform.

Eastside of that Motor
LA and the bay area are only places with homeless problems, and its only in the LA city, and In Oakland and San Francisco in the bay
:what:

Have you never been to Portland? Or Seattle? That’s technically west coast too with terrible homeless issues.

And every major city in America has homelessness problems. What you keep tending to ignore is the other half of the equation I gave you when I said the warm weather plays a huge part in why the numbers out west are so inflated because it’s easier to survive in the elements.

But I see that WOAT banner so I’m booboo the fool for even trying to go back and forth with you

lmao at you thinking liberals are anything but conservative economically speaking. also all the GOP run states are broke
California sent out emails this week to a lot of small business owners and self employed that dont usually get unemployment, asking them to reconfirm their 2019 income. 8 months after their system accepted them.

the email goes on to state failure to reconfirm income, they will have to pay back the money.

8 months of it :mjlol: this is stupid on many levels. Because for the people who scammed this shyt, they not going to pay shyt back, and for the people like me, it just seemed like a huge invasion of privacy. On some, damn you wanna double and triple check on me because your system of approving people is garbage :camby:

California is broke a desperate right now.

atlanta and houston seem to be doing fine though :ld:

Pretty sure black folks would have something to say about that. You got land to give to the homeless who aren't asking but not black people:mjlol:.?
Not at $700K a unit. You can't give away "affordable housing" to folks that have no incentive or vesture towards ownership. It's insulting to those that put down 20% and go to work each day to pay the mortgage and foolish to think that someone that has lived on the streets for the past decade is going to get back into the rat race or stop chasing that high.
There is help for those the want it, but most of the $Bs set aside in CA/LA Co/LA City is funding the non profit (hahaha!) orgs fighting the situation of the unsheltered.
The point is there should be mandated drug treatment and transition housing should be decent, but not permanent or too comfortable.

Homeless people have taken over LA. People pitching tents all over the highway, all the parks, the beaches and everything. Venice beach is a complete homeless encampment at this point.

This will unfortunately be the rest of America with Biden in office unfortunately.
Damn really? Me and the wife were there maybe 4 years ago and it was great, stayed on the Venice Beach at the Venice Suites hotel. Walked the beach in the morning and saw dolphins then ate bfast at Hummingbird cafe and dinner date at Stella Barra, barely noticed any homeless mostly just beach bums.

Yeah its MUCH different now. Homeless people are literally on every inch of the boardwalk. The entire place smells like ass and urine.

Now Police keep the bums off Santa Monica beach so its nice there.

Spoiled brats breh, no empathy or sympathy for able-bodied people who choose to pee in the street and prey on the charity of strangers....."Get a job grouch"...
I know a person in that age range and his mother owned the building where their family business is currently. The business is bleeding because of Covid lockdowns. The mother is died recently. The will cannot be probated because of "backlog due to covid." The dead mother still technically owns the building which is political BS but how shyt goes I guess. He can't afford to pay property tax, doing the best he can but the government can do him dirty and cease the property from his dead mother at anytime. This guy could be on those same streets shortly and it's sad.

You need to live a little if you think every able bodied person out here without is all because they're lazy... such a trash mentality and I'm not even trying to be combative. But what type of "pull yourself up by the bootstraps" nonsense is this?

End rant.

Garcetti and the City Council - is not one person and is a start.
But I agree, the housing market needs reform. You can wait more projects from the government (too slow, not enough units), but I suspect that it will come from the private sector, like most innovation.

You shouldn't put your feelings and perception on to others. Do you guys realize there are people all over the world who live in shacks and mud huts who are perfectly happy? They enjoy there freedom and are perfectly happy not having to slave away for 40 hours a week. We have been brainwashed by living in luxury or simple comfortability. These people are admirable in the sense they are like children who don't care about not having the bullshyt we slave away for. People go to L.A to make it all the time, why wouldn't you go there and set up a tent and try to live your dream? But all in all poverty and a tent doesn't mean sadness and depression for some people. People really have to stop making assumptions and projecting.

Real Spit.... A substantial amount of homeless people, really prefer that lifestyle.....
