Kind of off topic but what is the solution to the housing problems in California?
my quick takes on housing issues, which im sure smarter people could improve on these ideas:
for homelessness - we have a 30 + billion surplus (somehow..) just last year, could probably build enough units , with the space we have not used up between the bay and LA to build a free mini city for the ones that want help. if 30 billion cant cover that then I dont know how they could fukk that up.. should also cover travel to this place even for the ones that are really far gone. A sanctuary city almost. Make loitering actually illegal again. California has so much wasted land in between the bay and LA.. the homeless and drug problem is too far gone at this point for almost any other solution I feel.. these cats spazzing out on regular people now from the cheap drugs where before at least they kept to themselves and it just looked dirty
For the actual real estate issues:
-first time home buyers should have top priorty over everyone searching for a house. Like not even a question. If its on the market for a certain price and a first time home buyer gets approved for it, it should sell. Someone eventually has to cut the over selling and price gouging out from new home buyers, its fukking with families at this point.
-Should be a limit on how many houses a corp/person can buy per state

No overseas money either

Gotta be a resident of united states and a california ID to buy a house

until then, people from europe and china just going to continue to buy dozens of houses for 100-300k over asking in cash and rent it out for ridiculous prices
