As a Jets fan, I saw this firsthand when our owner Woody Johnson fired former GM Mike Tannenbaum, but decided to keep HC Rex Ryan, When interviewing people for the GM job, he told candidates that they had to keep Rex. And that deterred alot of candidates from taking the job. Which ended in us getting a crappy GM in John Idzik, and in 2 years both Idzik & Rex were fired.

Point being that it’s the GM’s job to run the team as he sees fit. Let him do his job! An owner should never step on a GM’s toes (this is business 101). And for anybody saying "well, it’s the owner’s team, he can do what he wants!". Ok then why doesn’t he run the team? If I’m a GM candidate, and the owner is gonna tell me how to do my job, I will not work for him. If he’s gonna tell me how to do my job, he can do it himself. That’s why I really want Rosas to be our next GM.

Prokhorov needs to let whatever GM he’s going to hire do his job. Just cut the check, and get the hell out of the way. Or just run the team himself ala Jerry Jones
