Damn shame. I'm still mildly interested in at least trying this out some day, but it'll probably have to wait as a PSN freebie.

Its on demo now for PS5. Gonna play demo first before I make my decision to buy it or not. Got many mixed feelings from gamers.
If the game's story and voice acting was complete trash, but the polish, music, sound effects and feel of combat was pristine I could overlook it but you can't. The game has these pseudo narrative exposition moments where it's too trash to take away from the combat.

Currently going through the prologue. The plot isn't really blowing me away, and Kaser's voice acting is pretty stiff. But it's alright. The biggest issue for me is the performance. The combat is something I'm currently enjoying, and it's clear they put a LOT of work into that.
If you're on the fence, I'd say try the demo. You're basically getting that. I did hear that after the prologue, the game improves by quite a bit, so if that's true, they need to make some changes in the prologue.

I finally played the demo. I can see why and understand somebody dislikes this game.
IMO, combat wise, I thought it was really fun! A little rough around the edges and I think the sounds are sorely lacking. However, I found it pretty easy to pick up and make some impressive-looking combos. A bit janky overall.
The voice acting was pretty rough and not feeling it. Maybe because it's the only English voice in the demo. I want to hear Japanese dub. I have a feeling the story is going to be balls and seems uninspired, and I would like to wrap it up, but again, I dislike the English dub in this game. You can't change the language voice since it's a demo. I'm glad I didn't pre-order. The graphics weren't bad but not impressive. I can see why someone said it feels like PS4 graphics. The fact is that I played on a PS5 Pro and this game is Pro enhanced and Devil May Cry 5 is not Pro enhanced and the DMC5 graphics are way shytty on these Lost Soul Aside graphics.
I would cop it on sale for $20 or wait for PS Plus Month.
