I think what we as a society don't talk about often is how men fail to love themselves. Society is always preaching to women about self-esteem and removing baggage but I think what causes men to fail in relationships is they don't love themselves. A lot of men harbor childhood trauma from not being attractive enough or cool enough for the girl they liked. (Mind you there could have been another girl who wanted them but they were too busy ignoring her but that's another topic). As they grow up, they put all their self worth in appealing to the masses. All they strive for is to get the biggest bootied, long haired chick they can find. The type of chick whose sole purpose is to make other men jealous, ignoring all her other unattractive qualities. Then went shyt hits rock bottom, his self-esteem is shot even more and he repeats the cycle bc he has to "prove" himself.

This isn't about me. I put this article up for the people who have gone through extremely bad relationships thinking it would be good advice. Yes you have to seek people with good qualities but it all starts with yourself.

Yeah, you have to start with your self and the basics. Some people have such a warped and distorted outlook of the world, that bad relationships are a package deal.

The cure to all of this is prioritising personality over looks.

I agree for the most part but you still have to have somebody that's good looking to you. Now long term of course it has to be more than looks aka personality, compatibility, etc but looks gets you in the door. If that's what your saying I think this might be another agreement.
