most coaches in the NFL are NOT allowed to finish their contract. if they are gonna extend your contract, they do it before you hit the final year. if you get to your final year without an extension, you're gonna get fired. this is the norm. not the exception that happened just to lovie.

But either way Lovie was a good coach and quite frankly he had 7-9 team play above their talent level. He'll have his pick of jobs next year, I expect him in KC or San Diego, that division is awful and he could easily take one of those teams to the playoff within 2 years.

brandon marshall wasn't commanding those high of picks at the time due to his off the field trouble in miami.
