brandon marshall wasn't commanding those high of picks at the time due to his off the field trouble in miami.

This GM was just hired last year.
Lovie fukked up by not being able to hire an OC that could make things happen. He had A LOT of control over the moves this team made during his tenure here. He basically would hire an OC and say fukk it and not give any input. This nikka let Martz deal Olson just cause... and now that's one of the holes the team needs.
Dude would probably still be coaching if he wasn't allowed to pick his OCs to be honest.

Gm that brought/drafted most of those OL players was fired last season. They weren't gonna fire another GM after one year. Lovie was the final link to the old regime. There was no one else to blame after two consecutive late season collapses. Also when we brought in the new GM last year, the stipulation was that lovie was gonna be here at least thru 2012.
Another thing. When the bears were 7-1, lovie was offered a 2 yr extension, but he held out for more years and that bit lovie in the ass in the end.

yup, and he probably would have fired lovie after last year if not for ownership specifically telling emery that he COULD NOT fire lovie last year.
