The Bears ranked 28th in the league in yds. per game in 2012, 24th in '11, 30th in '10, 23rd in '09, 26th in '08, 27th in '07, 15th in '06 (Super Bowl!!!), 29th in '05, & 32nd in '04 (his first year).
They were 2-6 against playoff teams, and one of those wins was week one against the Colts.
The guy had a 19-41 all time record against teams with a record above .500.

Damn, just done watching that Devin Hester interview and it makes me realize how influential Lovie was to these guys off the field. :wow: Lovie is a great man and human being, and I hope he succeeds somewhere else. I know I called him a clown earlier, but I still wish him the best.

Ok, let's analyze the years since that Superbowl run:

2007: 7-9 record. Still had Grossman. Didn't want Thomas Jones long term since they had just drafted Benson. Jones is traded away and Benson gets hurt (again). Oh, and Grossman is still our QB along with Griese.

2008: 9-7 record. It's a winning season, but no playoffs. It was clear we weren't going anywhere with Orton as our starter. We draft a rookie in Forte after ridding ourselves of Benson. Changes to follow the next year...

2009: Cutler's first year with the team. Also Mike Martz first year as OC. It's an adjustment period and we go 7-9. Oh yeah, Urlacher misses the entire season.

2010: We go a respectable 11-5. Everyone is healthy for the most part, but we lose to the eventual champs, Green Bay in NFC Championship.

2011: We go 8-8 after Cutler misses last half of the season. Matt Forte misses game at the end as well.

2012: 10-6 record. Sputtered at the end due to various injuries to starters.

Yeah, shyt does happen, but people are making it like he was this terrible coach when in reality, he had the misfortune of inept personnel moves and injuries. All these jokers in Chicago keep saying "we need a coach with fire!" Yeah, because screaming on the sideline guarantees wins. I see the Ryan brothers on the sideline every week with fire in their eyes, but they will both be watching the playoffs on their couch like me.

They better have a damn good plan because they got rid of a coach who excelled in defense (and it showed on the field) and who all the players loved and would run into a wall for.

The thing I'm pissed about isn't that they felt that Lovie wasn't gonna get the Bears to the next level... I'm pissed that they axed him & there is no replacement better that's available... :snoop:

Lovie could have a job by the end of the week if he wanted to...

Our next HC is guaranteed to be someone with no HC experience. We're already interviewing OC's... how'd that work out for Denver when they hired Josh McDaniels... :snoop:

Great guy, I'll always appreciate him for the wins he brought the Bears, but sometimes change is necessary. I wouldn't have minded it that much if he stayed but I've awaiting his removal for a while.

He'll be good, he'll get some offers quick and I wish him all the success. Hope the Bears can pick a good coach, and not no damn Cowher or Gruden. :scusthov:

What's wrong with Gruden or Cowher? They both have superbowl rings

Wouldnt be suprised if they hire broncos oc

Thats who im hearing is the popular choice right now

The Bears have already started their list, and they’re starting on offense.

According to FOX’s Jay Glazer, the Bears have asked for permission to interview Denver offensive coordinator Mike McCoy.

The 40-year-old McCoy has experience in multiple systems, from his days as a West Coast offense quarterback to helping make the Tim Tebow experiment work in Denver.

Tapping into quarterback Jay Cutler is clearly a priority, and McCoy has the kind of background to prove he can adjust on the fly, and make the most of a variety of quarterbacks. A proven commodity such as Cutler, with a reliable deep threat in Brandon Marshall is a good place to start.

I'll take Mccoy dude took the Broncos with Tebow at QB to the playoffs :mindblown:

Tom Clements from GB wouldn't be a bad look either :smugfavre:

Alot of idiocy going on in here. We all know who my squad is, so think about this: I'm not happy at all that Lovie got the boot.

If you think Lovie got a raw deal, then you're obviously on the outside looking in. I'm a short drive up the I away from Chicago, and have plenty of interactions with Bears fans, and i know that not many will be sad to see him go. I can't wait to listen to Les tonight and hear his take.

I've been saying the same shyt for years: he was living off that Super Bowl appearance. His teams never evolved. Ever. It was the same thing every single year. Spotty offense, Defense/Special Teams bailing 'em out, and hoping the dominoes fell in the right spot and they got in the playoffs.

You can throw them 10 wins around all you want, but like a couple Bear fans in here said: 7-1, and missed the playoffs. That can't happen. Speaking as a Packer Owner/fan, I'm sad to see him go :jawalrus:
