I really hate when coaches are fired for the incompetence of their front office.

The Bears o-line has been a problem for years, and their means of addressing it even a greater problem.

81-63 regular season

3-3 post season

1 Superbowl appearance

2 NFC championship appearances

When does this warrant a firing?

3 playoff appearances in 9 years along with missing 5 of the last 6 years. they were forced to fire him cuz they couldn't let him go into this next season as a lame duck coach. they wouldn't be able to get any coordinators if they would have kept him.

the GM was fired last season and ownership forced the new GM, Emery to keep lovie this year.

o-line is a problem, but lovie is the one who hired and promoted tice, who was a total failure. in the end it falls on him since he co-signed tice and his decision making.

lovie could have got fired last year. he allowed todd collins and caleb hanie to make this roster. co-signing todd collins who's QB rating struggled to get above 10 when cutler got injured should have got him fired in itself.

hell last year, they started 7-3 and ended up 8-8

this year started 7-1 and ended 10-6

missed the playoffs both years. it is what it is. :manny:

I find this to be a lot of revisionist history because when I was going in on Jay early on this year the defenders were showing up in mass amounts.

I didn't see a lot of "Jay does suck" sentiment around here.

I live out here, I talk to plenty of Bears fans, I listen to local radio.

the-coli isn't a real representation of the entire fanbase. Lovie has been shytted on for the past couple of years just because of his demeanor in this city (which is stupid) and Jay Cutler isn't a likable player/person period. Stream local radio out here and peep the callers sentiment towards him. They know he still ain't where he's supposed to be right now, and as a whole people are questioning him as the answer at the position.

the problem is it took my entire lifetime to find jay cutler. he's the best QB the bears have had in my life.

they ain't gonna send him packing unless there's clearly an improvement at the position. so until then, I'm riding with him.

the problem is they paid a shytload for cutler, and haven't seen him do anything but regress since he's been here. someone has to be held accountable for that as well. and we all know that they ain't gonna get rid of cutler.

What was the issue with Lovie's personality? SMH @ fanbases that want their QB's to be on that "Aww, gee shucks" Colt McCoy bullshyt.

300 murders a year
lovie falls under that "tough break" umbrella

he not a horrible coach, and its tragic that the front office never provided him and the offense with a legitimate o line.

same time they did provide him with weapons though, and as beanie posted, he is responsible for tice, basically making him liable for the offense.

last year the bears won 5 in a row and fell apart when cutler went down, this season they were 7-1 and once again cutler got hurt. the momentum of the team took a hit.

and the nfc was just another monster this season with the emergence of teams like washington and seattle and nobody thought minny would do much. normally 10-6 gets you in.

but the front office just cant sell the fanbase on another year of lovie. which is what this is all about. if lovie was a ozzie type of character then they could sell him, but this dude just too classy for these rowdy bear fans. they want to hear some horns blazing, not " we are 8-4 with rex grossman as our quarterback" for a whole season.

im on the fence with the firing, only because im in confusion on who they can replace him with that would be credible. he coming into a defense with a lot of vets who wont just get behind anybody. we have a knuckle head qb and a weird ass wide receiver. if it aint a legit name the locker room could implode.

so if some star power follows lovie, then its cool. but if another long term d. cord or o cord comes in then this could get worst, especially if the front office once again fails to get the o line fixed. o line being bad limits forte ability to operate, it limits what the offense can do in the passing game. another TE wouldnt hurt either.

Basics

I live 30 minutes from Chicago. Local sports radio is obviously about the Bears. That's why I started this thread. I'm listening to Waddle and Silvy. On Monday's, they have the Jay Cutler show. I've been listening to ESPN Chicago for years. What GoldenGlove has stated is true.

I dont believe Cutler is what he was expected to be until thi year has he had reliable options to throw to. When we talk about O line quality can we factor in pressures and hurries as well? Even though Rodgers' o line is equally bad I trust them to be somewhat stable at some point during a game.
