ATL…overly
I am at a loss for words as to why Lovie Smith is unemployed right now. Winning record + superbowl appearance should equal employment.

:heh: @ people saying this but Bears fans giving y'all SPECIFIC reasons why he wasn't a good coach. But he's black so y'all already gave him his pass. SMH

that was actually during the 2010 season. he didn't make it to the playoffs the next two seasons after that, and in his last season (2012), he turned down a contract when the bears started off hot at 7-2. he could have taken a deal at the time, but declined. now he's unemployed. at least he got paid this season as he is still under contract, so lets not shed a tear for lovie.

Lovie spent half his time their with the offense trying to make Devin Hester a number 1 receiver...

That either says something about him if he had anything to do with that

or

It says alot about what the OC was doing...or not doing...during that time

Lovie was picking the OCs and was the one pushing for Devin to be WR. Big reason his extension was worth more than 40M since he was classified as a WR.

Classic Niccas
probably devin hester or some shyt. but even last year, when they had b-marsh going ham, and cutler and forte still on the roster, he couldn't get them to do shyt either. couldn't get any offensive scheme to work with cutler in 4 seasons.

mind you trestman come in here and one year later, these nikkas are 2nd in the entire NFL in ppg in year one :mindblown:

we are seeing the kinda offensive output that is UNHEARD of in this city. I mean I been watching these nikkas since the 80's and they ain't lit up the scoreboard like this since the days of mcmahon and sweetness.

meanwhile, theyre going to end up winning less games than they did last year and have one of the worst run defenses in the league. mccoy is about to have a field day with them on primetime television.

at the end of the day, i can understand why they parted ways with lovie smith, but people in here acting like lovie smith shouldnt be a head coach need to sit down & shut up.

people keep bringing up devin hester but he was the best "receiver" they had for a while.

lovie is completely clueless on offense, and in today's NFL, if you cannot grasp offense, you're gonna fail. getting a good OC is easier said than done. he was here 9 years, and went through about 5 OC's and failed each time in that aspect.

Great point. If people actually see beyond his skin color, this is the real hole that led him in to why he got fired. Just get him a good OC who can override Lovie and you'll be well off. He cannot handle the offense.

I like him. I think he's an underrated coach. Get him a good OC and Texans get the W more often than not.
Y'all do know it's NFL law.... You HAVE to interview a black or minority coach before anyone else

99% of the time, as numbers show, it's just a show. Like when the chiefs interviewed some black coach knowing they were going for Andy Reid.

I'm not saying he's not gonna get it. But every single team must do this or they get a huge fine
