Brehdren... I've suffered from low back pain going on 3-4 years now. I know the root is I sit all damn day for work which has probably ruined my hip flexors but I specifically aggravated it over time in the gym and trying to dunk (I don't have anywhere near the ups anymore) and while stretching helps, if I miss a single day of stretching it feels like my legs are gonna disconnect from my body and it never truly goes away. Some days I can run and jump just fine, other days there isn't a thing I can do about it and i just have to suffer through it.

I got an x-ray 3 years ago to confirm and went to an urgent care, and I know it's my muscles not my actual spine. But what's bothering me is, I'm starting to feel the shyt in my knee and feet now.

What do y'all do to stretch and minimize y'all back pain if you've ever dealt with it?

Funny you make this thread, I’ve been dealing with this issue and been discussing it with my homie. It is definitely a hip issue from research I’ve been doing. But I’ve been taking a lot of magnesium, collagen and other supplements that has decreased the pain considerably. Also doing hip abductor stretches has helped me.

I'm taking magnesium for sleep. Coincidentally, I just booked a magnesium massage for tomorrow. I have no idea what to expect. It's just a constant nagging pain that will not go away. Now that it's spreading, I feel like I need to nip this shyt now.

I'd stand all day to get rid of this shyt... I used to do it at jobs back in my 20s... problem is, with my knee amd feet starting to aggravate me, I can't even stand very long unless I'm walking.

Cop some beet root powder, some magnesium complex powder, and collagen powder. I’ve been making a drink in the morning combining all of that stuff and it’s reduced the daily pain exponentially. It doesn’t go away, but it definitely makes it more tolerable. People recommend yoga for this kind of stuff though, so you should look into that. That’s my next step.

I had a bad bout years ago and invested in weekly sessions with a chiropractor. It helped a lot and I would occasionally go see another chiropractor periodically for maintenance. The one for maintenance would do some electric stem and ice pack application in addition to the adjustment.

I did a chiropractor years ago for an unrelated issue. I had awkward posture. Caused me to walk stranger than I realized, I had a lurch. Which is funny because I'm short.

I hope I don't have to do it again, because that shyt was barely covered by my insurance.

I booked a massage and a session at StretchLab this weekend. Will do stretch lab for awhile if I have to. Maybe even yoga. But I'll keep the chiro in my back pocket.

These stretching videos are great for back pain:

If you cannot consistently dedicate at least 15 minutes a day to stretching especially when you’re already have issues, then you are getting exactly what you signed up for.

GET AFTER IT

Bridges have been a blessing for me. How's your core strength? That's front, back, side to side and up and down.

I think I use to overwork my core and not enough of my back, glutes, hamstrings...

My core workouts were ridiculously over the top; weighted incline sit-ups (45lb jawn), weighted leg lifts, Russian twists, minute plus planks, i used to use the tricep pulldowns as an ab exercise.

I overtrained way too much.
