NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
fukk you and bum grease. Swizz made x and the RR's in general hot.
Swizz > grease.
A true X fan would be a nikka like me whom bought all his albums within weeks after they dropped. 3 of them i bought the day of. So,real X fan speaking. Swizz made them nikkas.
nikka X was gonna be that nikka regardless. He was already crazy poppin BEFORE Ruff Ryders Anthem dropped. He had his 24 Hours To Live verse. And 4321 verses in 97. Then top of the 98 year he had Onyx Shut Em Down and LOX Money Power Respect. Get At Me Dog and Stop Being Greedy was out as singles. Everything surrounding X was fire. Like I said. U come off like a nikka who got into X late. U couldn’t have been a day one fan. Talking the way u talkin.

I like some dame grease
But he was never a producer don because he wasn't that good.
He had his moments, good for him. But he never was that nikka, and emotional coli nikkas cant change that for him. He gotta do it by making hit records PERIOD.
And by hits i mean shyt people checking for. Dont gotta be all over the radio but the masses gotta fukk with it.
Or atleast lead a movement like
swizz
rza
dre
timbaland
dj paul/juicy j
beats by the pound
Mannie fresh
Erick sermon
etc

Something man, dude aint do shyt all like that. Ya'll gotta accept it,stop crying and getting mad at the messenger of truth

Dame Grease provided DMX with his best ever work.

Honestly DMX should've stuck with Grease and Irv Gotti for production. They fit his style perfectly.
Exactly. Swizz did RR Anthem then off of that got to do the entire Flesh of my flesh album which was a whole ass of shyt.

Dude benefited from that one hot track like a muh. Plus being related to Dee and waah didn't hurt. Dame blessed X and made a classic then got dropped.

Swizz to me is the snoop/50 of producers. Hot for 1 album...ass cheeks the rest of his career.

But they were hits and the back drop for millions of records sold, for the RR click. Facts not opinions playboy

They had a machine helping machine push all that. Which is also facts. Were they really hits or did the commercial market convince us that they are after repetitively playing the shyt over and over until caved in to like the shyt? Just being honest. Now Swizz laced T.I. when "King" dropped showing growth.

yall keep skippin over hell rell!!!

before max, dame grease was killin it with hell rell.

ruger is like the middle child that doesn't get acknowledged in this scenario.:therethere:

The Great Depression was straightut man And Then There Was X was the epitome of dad hip hop:scust:. I remember hearing old ladies singing Party Up and just nope the hell out of that album.

DXL still bangs though:ehh:

lol.

I see what youre saying. I reference stuff like that a lot on this board, without the catchy term. but I always say the epitome of dad hip-hop was that dr dre/up in smoke/'90s west coast revival in the early '00s. that chit had no sauce whatsoever.

sure, "up in here" was that chit when it initially dropped. it got played after a while, and too big for its own good. but initially, it was THAT JOINT. plus he was still making that raw street ish.

nikka we talking about the best SOUND for X. Not hits. Music nikka. Swiss was good for that catchy shyt. But the MOOD and dark music X got famous for. Is his shyt wit Grease and Irv. Nobody can argue Swizz supplied X with hits. shyt. No one even said X didn’t need Swizz at all. It’s when he let Swizz TAKEOVER was the problem. In reality. He needed both of em. Swizz for the hits. And Grease for the album cuts.

nah. theres a lot of people in this thread dissin swizz. and they were especially dissin him in that old thread that caused @bigbadbossup2012 to enter this thread with a full clip.

and swizz was more than just hits. he was churning out album bangers too. lets not devalue swizz to a singles producer like a timbaland or somebody.

I don't like how bossup is dissin dame grease tho
.

But that's your opinion and one that i dont agree with. Fact is Swizz made X whom he became. Not that NOBODY. iT'S FUNNY,most THE DAME grease beats that i like, involve PK. :beli:

ehh, I agree that ruff ryders anthem is X signature song but he had already taken over before that single dropped.

so saying that swizz made X is an extreme overstatement.
