Because of his value to the team. Also he's pretty damn good as well. He really has no weakness in his arsenal. Pinpoint accuracy, ability to scramble and make plays with his feet, clutch!!!. As a QB i don't see a weakness or a concern in his game. Brees will be his height and decision making, Brady his athleticism, declining arm, Seyton his athleticism, noodle arm lack of clutchness in late games.
So hes the best player on his team. And the gripes on brees and brady are some predraft shyt...these are proven players
Uh... The Rams? Pretty sure we beat the Rams majority of times we play no matter where we play. Saints and Pats are the only games im worried about on that list...

What are the gripes on rodgers now? One of the reasons why they have him in front of manning and brady is because he can make plays outside the pocket with his feet. He's ahead of brees because he makes better decisions with the football. Name a weakness you see from him

Elway,

All of them would easily be considered above Rodgers. Not even including the fringe guys like Brady or Brees..
Megatron is arguably the best WR to play the game.
AP is a top 5 all time RB RIGHT NOW and arguably a top 3

you're simply gushing about how good he is but that doesn't support that he is the best player in the NFL. He isn't CLEARLY the best QB in the nfl. Brees he isn't CLEARLY the best player in his division. So until you explain how he's better than Peterson or Johnson, nothing you say matters.
Best WR is megatron
best RB are shady and AP
Best QBs are manning and brees
Best defensive players are richard sherman and JJ Watt
by saying "he's the best player in the nfl" matter of factly makes an assumption that he is definitely better than everyone on that list and he isn't.

Okay breh. Rams got Shaun Hill starting now. Pats not sure how their offense will look and its the home opener. Saints is an L barring something crazy happening.
Falcons we can DEFINITELY beat at home.
Packers is a divisional rivalry game and we always play them tight.

That's the thing- at the height of both of their career Rodgers may be a more dangerous all around weapon...
But that is a difficult argument to rely on. Prime Brees and prime Brady are just as good (maybe even better) than Rodgers. Hell, the most dangerous QB in his prime may be Vick
Its about putting up big numbers for a good amount of time- while winning. Rodgers COULD get there- but itss wayy to early to say he is even knocking on the door for top 5 yet
Pack and Bears are the only contenders in that division. I'd say its a toss up. I wanna go with the Pack just because of Rodgers. But I'm not sold on their line or offensive threats outside of Jordy and Cobb
