Choose to not acknowledge/believe in a Higher Power if you want, and I will choose to believe what I want. If you believe that this intricate and advanced universe/reality was not created by something/someone, then that's on you. I'll always believe and have faith in the Elohim of Israel.

January 2016:

I was 23 years old at the time working a shytty warehouse job for $9 an hour, ended up losing the job because I got sick and ended up hospitalized. When I got out I had no job, no insurance, no car, credit, wasn't in school and living at home. Probably the first time I really felt like a loser and worthless, was just embarrassed to be in that situation.

Luckily I had a decent amount of savings but I had to live off that until May and I got down to my last couple hundred before taking a dishwashing job at a restaurant for like $10.50 but the job was walking distance to my house. For a year straight I just grinded, working all the overtime I could get while re-enrolling in college. Brought myself a car in 2017. Washed dishes for another year and bounced from that job while finishing up my degree in IT paid for with grants. Finished up college by the end of 2018 and bounced from some odd job I was working to last me till I graduated.

Got hired in a help desk position at an IT company in ATL, been here since February but I've more than doubled my annual income, I'm 27 years old now. Have about 15 racks in the bank going into 2020 and my credit score is 700+, still living with my parents but I plan on moving out with 20 to 30k saved and no debt. Life is looking up

The Godverse
I think that it was a wake up call from Yah. I was going around saying that I was "agnostic" and "atheist". I truly stopped believing in The Most High and that was when things went completely down for me..

This this this so much. It was when I started dabbling in atheism and turning away from God was when my life went downhill. I can't stress enough the importance of walking with the Most High. He will bless you if follow him, but curse you if you reject him. No one can tell me otherwise. :hubie:

Semi Long thread:

I was broke, flabby, unemployed, no skills and qualifications whatsoever and on welfare.

The breaking point was when my extremely successful sister got married and she had to buy me a suit because I lied to her that I had one. It was a last minute suit too so it wasn’t tailored and was baggy. The wedding guests included a lot of her successful friends arriving in their Mercedes etc whilst I arrived in a taxi in my baggy suit. Since I was family I had to walk in the church in my baggy suits, overweight in front of hundreds of guests with my head bowed. I knew I had to drastically change my life :wow:

That was in 2010 and 9yrs later I’m a senior Chemical Engineer at my firm and at my brother’s wedding this year I arrived in my BMW, tailored Armani suit and the best man walking across the church aisle like :takedat:

Damn

:picard:

That come up

:dwillhuh:

:whoo:

These words are hooked into my ears "Only the good die young, only seems evil lives forever", So cause of it I only think of when will time strike it's final hours?

There are no easy solutions even though the answer is simple innit self.
we have a long mental health thread, worth sharing in there at times.

don't wallow in misery and self loathing. nobody respects that. you can be down but weakness is off putting. find some positive words to dwell on for a change. your perspective is everything.

When I graduated from college in 2015 with my mechanical engineering degree, it was a bittersweet moment for me because while I graduated, I still did not get a job offer and I also didn’t do any internships or co-ops and I had a sub-3.0 GPA. I obviously was going through job interview after job interview and got nothing. This made me have low confidence and this made me really hate the job interview process and I still hate it to this day. At this point, I had no job, low self-esteem, and was living with my parents.

I was unemployed until finally getting a full-time job in July 2017 as a CAD designer for a manufacturing company making $14.50/hr. During the two years that I was unemployed, I got trained in something called energy auditing back in November 2015 and I was part of a 5-week project back in July 2016. I also had a couple of other temporary jobs. I had one job that only lasted three days and another job that only lasted a week.

So I worked at the manufacturing job for a year and a half but while I was still working there, I was still on indeed.com and other job search sites looking for better paying jobs and something that was directly related to mechanical engineering. I went to a few job interviews but I was unsuccessful. Then in October 2018, I receive an email invitation to interview for a prestigious company in November 2018. They apparently had a few engineer job openings available.

I had to take a plane to show up to the interview. So I took a couple of days off of work in November 2018. I had prepared for the job interview the best way I could. The company had paid for the flight, the hotel I was staying at, and the rental car that I drove. So I had arrived for the interview and apparently I had two job interviews. The first interview did not go well but the second interview seemed to go well. So after the interview was over, I drove back to the airport. While waiting at the airport, I received a call from someone from the company and they called me to let me know that I received a job offer.

So I worked my CAD designer job until January 2019 and in February 2019, I officially began work as a mechanical engineer for the company that I’m currently working for now. Obviously, I had to relocate for this job, but I would say that the relocation process wasn’t that bad. Now, I’m making a little more than twice as much money as I was making in my previous job and living on my own in a decent apartment. I was finally able to secure the job that I should have gotten when I graduated from college.

This whole muthafukkin year, fam:mjcry:

Got let go from first job out of college.
Moved back in with the parents
Figuring out the cold hard truth about jobs (it's about who you know, not what you know)

Thought about starting a business, only to played by the peeps I thought had my back.

Had a few bogus interviews, where it was obvious the people already had a guy on the inside lines up, but they just needed to cross a box (fukk video interviews).

Actually tried to play slick once, and drove my dumbass from Phoenix to Austin fro an interview after I told the recruiter I was local in order to not get passed up. Damn interviewers didn't show up on Friday, so I needed up having to pay for two more days til Monday to keet up with them. Got nothing out of it.

Plagued with every issue as small as shin splints to as large as car transmission issues.

Last interview came up fruitless, other than the traffic ticket Hertz sent me (fukk DC traffic cameras:francis:)

Feel like I'm been jumped by a gang of muthafukkas. Anytime I try to throw a punch, it hits nothing but air, while every punch I take is directly in the gut.

Getting my skills up over the holiday to go back to war in the new decade.
