I know being practical is shunned upon in rap so forgive me…but no one thought to ask “What does whether the music is meant for the club/bumpin loud in the street have to do with it being fire music? And, what does it have to do with the artist in question being great?”?
I mean, Gucci Mane is an awful awful rapper (I actually don’t think he’s that awful but follow me, lol) but a lot of his songs are bumpable and meant for the club/hood to bump…that means he’s a better rapper than a Nas? Lupe? Eminem? Whoever? That’s a nasty ass gauge to measure someone’s greatness in hip hop by,
