I been in a lll eyes on me type of mood lately. I never mentioned myself in this post tho. And yeah I've gotten it for being darkskin but for some reason it never really bothered me because I got play no matter what. My best friend was light skin so I can tell some stories but that shyt is water off my back. I jut feel for the young black girls that internalize that shyt and think that there is something wrong with something that should be considered a gift. Yeah but definitely after a certain age you just gotta get in where you fit in as they say.

I used to work at a grocery store as a supervisor and had a bunch of young black guys working with me. The way they talked about darskin girls was a damn shame. What's funny is one of them had this bad little darkskin chick, her body was insane and had a cute baby face. I would have never imagined him with her the way he would talked about redbones. This kid literally told me with no shame that he was just waiting to make it so he can get him a light skin. You might as well have said that women were nothing but color to these guys cause that's the way they would describe them. But I know it's hard to believe because you guys aren't like that or you don't hang with people like that. It's how I feel when I'm in one of those all black women only chase thug threads. But it is what it is. I will be happy so very happy when darkskin girls stop worrying about what a bunch of dudes that don't want them prefer. Yeah yeah yeah it hurts but there are so many black men that do like darkskin even prefer them.

Well I guess it depends on the mentality. Some people would consider men in their 20's grown but me I called them kids cause that's how they acted. Even tho I was only a little bit older than them at the time.

But I go back to what I said. Any man who is dating a dark skin woman and talking about her like that has a mental issue. This goes beyond colorism, that's cognitive dissonance.

Yeah honestly except for the online I can't recall any grown man saying some crap like that. The problem is growing up hearing that shyt and letting it affect you as an adult, and that's when a lot of these complexes that these women have started. It's easy to say get over it blah blah but shyt affects people different ways and even if dudes are not in ur face being blunt with it constantly seeing it in the media isn't any help. Of course they can jut reject the standards that's put forth but that takes a strong mental and frankly a lot of theese kids now a days are weak as fukk mentally.

I mean look at this this thread, this entire thread is a product of the mindset that the bolded alludes to.

I've already told stories about my exes (the dark skinned ones) who are absolutely gorgeous in my opinion and in the opinions of most people who knew them. But yet, they always had some insecure, slikk shyt to say about light skinned women and how men always choose them first.

When I was with my most recent ex (tall, dark skin) , we ran into my previous ex at Kroger (taller, very light skin). After that awkward meeting, she asked me no less than 5 times if I had a preference for "light brites".

Its so strange seeing dark skin women who have no issues getting men still lamenting their pigmentation.

I believe that there is indeed a lightskin bump that mediocre lightskin women get. I absolutely believe it.

What I don't believe is Dark skin dimes who complain about this are really experiencing it like they think they are.
