Hiring never made sense. LSU is a southern staple that either needs a southern coach or that stereotypical iron jaw football coach (Les Miles) type. Brian Kelly is a p*ssy ass CEO coach who isn't a leader. He doesn't take accountability and constantly throws his guys under the bus. You can't reach the mountaintop with that.

Unless your program is just desperate and stupid there is zero reason to hire Kelly for next season. If your team misses out on the Lane Kiffin sweepstakes you'd be stupid as fukk to get desperate and hire this bozo.

Kelly and Franklin will both be coaching again in a season or two so LSU and PSU won’t have to pay the full buyouts

I'm a UF fan who wants us to hire Kiffin, so maybe biased, but I think he fits UF more than LSU even though LSU is probably the better job objectively speaking in a vacuum.

However, these jobs don't exist in a vacuum and I think Kiffin's personality and style make more sense given what has worked at UF before with Spurrier and Urban than it does at LSU.
Objectively speaking I think Kiffin would be a better fit with you all.

If he’s smart though, he’ll stay in Oxford, MS were the expectations are low though and use these two openings to negotiate more bread.

Kiffin can be a football messiah at Ole Miss, at LSU he’s always going to be rolling in Saban and Les Miles shadows. At Florida he’s going to be in Spurrier and Urban Meyer’s shadows.

At LSU especially it’s going to playoffs, natty, or bust. Ole Miss will be happy with 9-10 win seasons and top 10-15 finishes.

I think if this were a few years ago, that would be true about UF.

He will have more job security at Oxford, but after 4 years of Napier, UF fans will be more patient with whoever is next if they can have 9-10 win seasons.

They don’t have a school president. As soon as they do, Woodward is done out in these streets. That’s why you see the governor so much. He’s in a bind.

He followed Washington’s president to Texas A&M, parlayed that into the sports machine that is LSU and Kelly was his guy. He sold everyone that without the restrictions of Notre Dame, Brian Kelly would be a national championship caliber coach.

He’s the architect of Kelly’s and Fisher’s buyouts plus almost complete control for both coaches at each respective program. He will never see another SEC job.
People forget that Woodard hired Kim Mulkey in women’s basketball and Jay Johnson in men’s baseball. Between them they brought like 3 nattys to the university. Soccer, track, and women’s gymnastics doing well under his watch too.

Woodard missed the mark on Brian Kelly, but trust and believe Woodard had the blessing and approval of boosters, the board, and president at the time before he just forked over a 10 year 100 million dollar deal to Brian Kelly.

Despite a costly mistake he played a big role in I believe it’s worth it to keep him.

I think we can agree he raised the floor at ND, after that idk i don’t have the energy to look at grand valley, CMU, and natti. As for lsu that record is cool at any other spot but not lsu and not for what they were paying. Can he be good at psu, maybe but all they doing is paying about 7 mill to do the Franklin experience in white, with less hits on the recruiting trail
I will never forget that he left Cincinnati just before a critical bowl game to join ND. He is a low individual, wish him nothing but the very worst.

I’d just bring Ed Orgeron back if I were the LSU AD. He understands Louisiana and recruiting.

I wouldn’t touch LSU if I were a Dan Lanning or Lane Kiffin. Fanbase and boosters are way to inpatient.

Hell no :skip:

Salute to Ed but look at that 2019 LSU roster. A lot of HCs win the NC with that level of talent. Apparently he was also trying to fukk some of the booster's wives? Man is radioactive

He might want the challenge. If he didn't, he might as well have stayed at FAU and been a god there living in Boca Raton

If Kiffin doesn't land? LSU is staring down no man's land when other equally or arguably better jobs are open. Dabo should leave Clemson as a change of pace, but thinking about it. LSU wouldn't be a fit. Yall want to dismiss a coach who's won multiple chips, but think Kiffin is the man for the job. CFB is becoming absurd.
