Red Light District was less commercial to you? It's hard to see how you hold this opinion. The scope of Chicken N'Beer is more broad, better production, I've actually never heard anyone put three Ludacris albums over Chicken N'Beer, nor Red Light District...

You wildin but at least you're unique 🤣...

RLD was VERY commercial. “Chicken and beer” just felt commercial and generic, like “let’s try to recreate ‘word of mouf’ with none of the same hunger or inspiration generic”.

I’m the opposite. I’ve never heard anyone celebrate “Chicken and Beer” more than a week after it released. Outside of California, Tacoma, and months in few other places I’ve lived in the south my whole life. And even that’s mostly around Atlanta and it’s metro area.

Everybody I know holds “word of mouf” or “Back for the first time” in the highest regards. “p*ssy poppin” stayed in rotation at parties though.

By ‘03 we were checking more for TI, Kast, still listening to Lil Jon, local shyt from Oomp Camp, Dipset/SP, or were hearing Jeezy for the first time. “Red light District” kinda made everybody pay attention again.

Word Of Mouf I heard people place over Chicken N'Beer. No other drop though...

I think Cris was at his highest popularity with Chicken N'Beer. It always feels like people who rate Back For The First Time so highly do so to flex they been listening to him from the start 😆.

Chicken and beer and RLD are definitely his commercial peak.

I rate it so high because it’s the one I can listen to years later and it still not find any flaws or get bored with.

It’s also the funniest, as far as bars and skits. He had nothing to lose, he was having the time of his life recording, and you can feel that throughout the whole thing.

My only humble flex is having listened to him since his initial start on Atlanta radio. He was hilarious then too.

Ludacris is one of those dudes who gets a lot of respect/love for being a dope rapper but I never ever thought he was dope, lol. His delivery/voice is amazing, like perfect…perfectly clear and full of life, etc… that alone can make you dope to a lot of people but them bars and rhyming and all that was always super ass imo. Nigs used to compare him to Redman in here, 😂. TI is much better to me. I think Luda spanked him tho on that Young Buck record back when.

You don't know what a "lyricist" is. T.I. shyt all over Bootychris.

that’s not true tho. They’re both aight, Luda had better fun goofy bars, punchlines, but TI was always a more of “serious” lyricist, even tho if I had to pick only one to listen to I would always pick TI but not cuz he’s a better bar for bar but cuz he makes better music. Some of Luda’s stuff aged terribly. I have the same problem with Redman. That goofy shyt neve ages for whatever reason.

tip wins slightly because he had the King album, that whole 2006 run and he broke trap music in officially.

its close tho. ludacris is a better emcee, lyricist, has more dope albums, and of course he served TIP in their battle.

so its a good debate. Tip gets the slight nod tho.

This convo of ti versus Luda is kinda made into different branches of business being compared to one another and not the emcee versus the voice over artist conversation.
As music executives and direction. Ti has a W over The entire industry. Simply because the entire music industry. makes ti label music as the beginning basis of music moving forward. As tips label is the one producer of that brand of music and marketer and then offshoots affiliated or benefitting from tips resources having life to create a draw in that style of music.

In regards to music ceo. Ti is superior.

As an emcee. Luda is superior because ti is strictly a voice over artist and the vocal we attribute to ti. Is written by a number of the artist who crafted the very music genre and driving force of all music moving forward.
Emcee wise in grand hustle to make it fair skillwise. It would be more fair to compare dro versus Luda. On a discussion of arguably the best skilled emcees from atl all time.

Yet, I've heard many T.I albums, even the shytty ones. Just giving you some perspective.

It's not really a perspective as much as it your own personal experience. I'm sure its people that never heard a T.I. album. It doesn't really tell us anything.
