I never understood this argument, and it goes to show just how much cats don't understand hoops.

Luka was the entirety of the Mavs offense because Kyrie didn't show up. I can't comprehend how folks expected Luka to generate offense, all by himself, to a high level, whilst also playing defense, meanwhile, you had all these Celtics players who couldn't perform to his level on offense. You swap Tatum and Luka, and Celtics end that series in 4, all in blowouts victories, and nobody is talking about what Luka didn't do to help his team win.

Never mind the fact that Celtics squad is arguably the greatest defensive team in modern history against guards/wings. Not even a prime MJ on that Mavs squad would've beaten them.

If the Mavs brass ain't forget that Finals, why aren't they getting rid of Kyrie first considering he went missing?

Dallas didn't think Luka was worth the investment. AD is being severely underrated in wake of this trade.

because for as good as he is, it's the equivalent to the Rangers betting the house on Jacob deGrom's arm.

There's a major downside to AD and Kyrie and the payoff in the short term doesn't appear to be there given where Dallas is and where teams like Boston, Cleveland and OKC are.
