AD coming in out of shape and Luka coming in svelte was a gut punch for Nico. I really thought both players would be motivated by this trade and ball. AD came out on fire that first game then got hurt and its been pretty rough since. Its still early but man it aint looking good. So far all the people I thought were overreacting or sleeping on AD are looking right .

Trading for a big over 30 is always a huge red flag, but trading for a big that is always hurt is even crazier. Also as much as I love AD, he's always needed a good guard/playmaker to be impactful offensively. This team was going to be without Kyrie for a while, I didn't really understand all the preseason hype going for Dallas.

AD is a first option physically and in terms of abilty but a second option mentally. Kyrie is a 2nd option physically but has a first option mentality. He has also matured a lot. The issue for them is gonna be how their already fragile bodies hold up as they approach their mid 30s.

It was based on what Klay used to be, what AD should be, and what Flagg could be one day. And folks just overlooked Kyrie missing most of if not the whole season.
