Thought he went to move in Japan since he was more culturally Japanese than African.

I’m conflicted. Majority of nikkaz can’t rap but if they use something like this, it can make them better rappers. But how good of a rapper can you really be if AI makes you good? The greatest MCs don’t have writers (Drake is a faq). The future might be the MC that uses AI the best will become the best MC.

Very murky lines being drawn here. You could argue that, in a way, he's only picking up ideas, fragments & lines that he himself would've come up with which is why he liked them. A rapper writing the dense, obscure type of lyrics he writes has probably googled/researched some shyt in the middle of writing a verse before, the difference here would mainly be that this AI program is consolidating a lot of that research time. At the end of the day, what I won't argue with is that the end result did sound like something he would've written anyway.

However, the flipside of it is, this is also an ok tool for people trying to sound like someone they're not. You could input lines from your favorite Lupe verse, line by line, sift through the AI-generated lines and construct an alternate version of that song that's legally different enough to be "yours". I say "ok", though, because at the end of the day, if you have no real inspiration driving your choices and you're just imitating, the end result won't have a voice and that'll be obvious when you're trying to rap it.

Also I 1000% expect battle rappers will be all over this shyt whether they admit to it or not.

Personally, the only temptation a tool like this would offer me would be to unstick writer's block. Even in saying that, though, I've always been more satisfied with the end result when I waited for the inspiration to hit to finish a track, and usually it'll be because I've had enough time to process what I really wanted to say in the first place. AI might be able to fill in the blank but it can't crystallize the point.

Messing around with this now, and this is wild! It still requires a lot of user input, which is good.

It will be interesting to see how this changes all written forms of media, especially with the ongoing writer's strike.

Yeah, this is definitely interesting. Gonna have to watch the video to see how he incorporated it. Definitely isn't a cheat code but feels like an evolution of those online rhyming dictionaries some nikkas used to use
