Lupe had two amazing albums back to back and hasn’t been the same since lasers honestly
He just derailed from what he was doing from the mixtapes like revenge of the nerds and rhyming ape etc
Probably label and personal stuff
If he kept going with the same trajectory he would be the goat

If Lupe had jimmy iovine backing him, he would be universally loved and commercially be considered a GOAT

He’s twice the MC, lyricist, storyteller than Kendrick and has a way better catalogue.

But one has jimmy iovine and the other was blackballed for speaking out against Jews

If he had Jimmy backing him, he wouldn't be the same Lupe. He would have had to make some compromises to be what other people evisioned him to be.

And Lupe is one of my favorites, easily. If it's about preference of who I like to listen to more, he' ranks very high, top 10-5 easily. Big picture, all time, not nearly as high.

Boy lupe stans are something else. No defining albums in his catalogue yet pushing him to the GOAT talks.

Boy lupe stans are something else. No defining albums in his catalogue yet pushing him to the GOAT talks.
Jay-z, arguably the greatest rapper ever, said Lupe is the greatest rapper ever.
Nas, arguably the greatest rapper ever, cited Lupe as the only rapper who reminds him of himself.
Lupe is teaching a Rapping class at M.I.T.

Etc...

I mean, you can say "stans" are pushing a narrative if you want to...but what about all this other stuff that solidifies the "G.O.A.T." talk...like the things I mentioned? You just conveniently want to overlook all that? Lol.

Lupe is one of them practitioners that you kind of have to be a high-level practitioner in the field yourself to fully and completely appreciate what he does and can do. If you're just a rap fan who just listens to rap you may still feel he's amazing (or not, like some of yall, lol) and that's cool...but the people who actually do this at an alien level know exactly what's up and what they're hearing and the level of difficulty and all that type shyt... that's why you hear so many greats always saying Lupe is a whole different caliber MC
