I saw a similar thing in this thread earlier. Please explain what did D12 do for Royce's career? Other than lose a battle vs. Royce. Do some people think Royce was a D12 group member, or do they just not know shyt about basic ass hip hop history from the late 90s /early 2000s?

Royce was on an Eminem album before Shady Records existed or D12 was signed to Shady. Royce also had his own solo deal. How did D12 help him? Boom was released like 2-3 years before they started beefing and that's what introduced Royce to a lot of people.

I get that y'all wanna break down lines but there's a chance Lupe just said dozen without a bigger meaning behind it. And if he meant it, it doesn't make any sense.

I see why people say Lupe stans are insufferable.

Beefing with D12 gave him life and notoriety with a new fanbase too. Pumped life into his career. The whole all publicity is good publicity notion - leading to a reconciliation which got him out the outhouse.

So Lupe is basically saying that Royce being so good at battling other rappers is the reason Royce has a career. On a diss song. I guess Lupe ain't that bright. Since it doesn't make sense in the context of that "If it wasn't for..." When he mentioned Premier.

What's next, Lupe is gonna tell he wouldn't have a career if he wasn't so talented?

Or his fans keep reaching...

Or you can take the stance meant - that Royce couldn't reach any new heights if it wasn't for someone else.

Yall can clown me, but I didn't understand what he was gettin at with this line
All he was saying is Royce got to the position he's in because of multiple people helping.

Basically if it wasn't for ...Eminem
If it wasn't for....Dr. Dre
If it wasn't for ...Slaughterhouse
If it wasn't for ...Interscope

And he's saying he can think of a dozen more reasons/things as to why Royce has a name in rap

This is why I feel bad quoting him, because I know people will look deeper into lines that aren't there lol just because it's Lupe. Diss was dope, but nikkas really gotta relax
