He’s not washed, he just doesn’t do the trying to fit a multisyllabic entendre into every line thing anymore. He’s still delving deeper than 99% of artists and still using high level language. Lupe’s real advantage is that he just has a far wider swath of subjects that he touches on, and I’d think if you just ask nikkas to rap, he’d be able to go longer.

and ofc no one is a rap student like the guy, so if you throw out a subject, he’s gonna go crazy on that too

The thing about that is, I don’t really think there’s ever been a reason for Kendrick to do that. Like I was a Lupe stan at the same time I was fukking with Kendrick deep, and all the shots Lu threw was one sided. He just didn’t fw the claims Kenny was making in control, like a ton of other legends at the time.

Big Sean changing his verse after getting the Control jawn from Kenneth, Drake and him having this friendly “I’m the best” back and forth, that all makes sense.


Tl;dr I don’t think Kendrick is the type of nikka to rap at nikkas for no reason

The only problem I have with the diss record is that he never said Royce's name. I HATE diss records like that. All diss records hit harder if you directly say who you're talking about in the song.
