My major problem with current Lupe. He tries too hard to convince his listeners, who crave arabesque, lyricism that he's smart. It hurts his music alot.

If you had asked me this question prior to T&Y I would have said Elzhi with no second thoughts. I'm still going with Elzhi but only by a baby hair.

i enjoyed lead poison 1 listen in more than anything lupe's released in years. i was once a big fan lupe during his early years. up until the cool, id say. but i agree entirely w/ billy's criticism. to the point it nearly ruins is past couple albums, for me. he seems to lose me more w/ each release. still i dont think ive ever felt him as much elzhi, a better rapper w/ way better production.
.... lupe fiasco is a 1000 miles ahead of 95% of rappers. His metaphors, similies, and concepts are top knotch. Elzhi has one if the best flows in rap but Lupe also does and can do everything elzhi does but it's not the other way around.

Lupe stans always like to act as if Elzhi and Pharoahe Monch don't exist when they say Lupe's the best "and it's not even close"
He's been given a thousand times the platform they ever have and most of the nikkas who lose their minds over Lupe aren't really comparing him to elite level lyricists, but to other major label artists
