if anyone can feel me on this....I am probably a bigger G-Rap and AZ fan than I am of Nas when I go back and pick through my favorite joints from all of them. I feel that lyrics bar for bar G-Rap and AZ are right there with Nas or better. There is no question however who is the most versatile of the three and also who crafts the better songs. When Nas is on one, aint nobody fukking with him. G-Rap and AZ probably never spit a wack line to me, but at the same time, they can become monotonous and even boring to a degree, where that wont happen with Nas. with that being said, Elzhi falls in the G-Rap/AZ file for me. I still prefer Elzhi, but its a personal preference, so I can see why someone would say Lupe is better. Within his given style, Elzhi is perfect, flawless MC. Perfect in one lane may not be as appealing as mastery in many lanes.

bruh, you cats are tryna Cuban b the fact that Lupe has a LOT projects and trash songs. Elzhi's catalog is consistently high level.
I don't need Elzhi to go out and do a lot of different shyt like Lupe does, and I don't feel like he's obligated to. if he wanted to do all that other shyt I'm sure he would but I think he knows his lane and sticks to it.
I don't think the analogy is apt because to me, personally, the one who gets monotonous and boring to me is Lupe.
also, Elzhi's punches hit harder and at least to my perception seem to require more thought

no, really, I am an Elzhi fan, not really a big Lupe fan, but I like some of his stuff and think he is dope when he wants to be but not consistent enough for me, especially with production. I just used that analogy to describe how others may feel, and how I feel about AZ and G-Rap as opposed to Nas, but it wasnt to say I personally think Lupe is better because I dont.
It's hilarious the things he says out of respect/humility 90% of the dudes he's said he was afraid of/wouldn't do a track with he'd wash on wax.

the Preface has better production than anything Lupe has ever had, by a long shot.
Lead Poison wasnt that dynamic but it suited his needs at the time, he wanted people to focus on the words

and then there's all the Slum Village production he was on
as far as elite lyricists go he's done an admirable job of finding the right production for his style. The only other cat that is super nice that consistently has good beats is Pharaohe Monch
