Lupe is definitely feeling that "damned if you do, damned if you don't" curse..

Finding every way possible to hate on something that was simply crafted artfully.

"Its too long." "He's being pretentious." "He only made it for nerds"

Yeah, I really never knew he was this hated til this album dropped.

I looked at the list of dudes who 1 starred the Official T&Y thread and none of them even had a post in the thread. Just blindly hating on this man

People were bytching about dude being cryptic and rapping just to rap, well this video gives you a peak into how he pieced these bars together. How can anybody watch that and not be even a little impressed is beyond me.

if you really want to keep it 100...it is overly wordy just for the sake of being overly wordy.....Elitists gravitate towards Lupe's music..... He is pretentious..... and it's a near 9 minute song.

Every bar has it's place in this Mural, it's how he perceives life, it's his art, not yours. Art will always be subjective. All this "overly wordy" nonsense is only opinion. For the sake of being wordy? The irony. Yes it is for the sake of being wordy, he's a emcee, they use words to paint pictures

So what that it is 9 minutes long, if he can keep your attention for the duration it doesn't feel too "lengthy." If its not your cup of tea it's just not, cool, but you guys don't even stop and say "hey, if more artists put this much effort into their work music as a whole would be different... I at least appreciate what he's trying to do."

Nothing short of brilliance. I still believe he should have turned it down a notch on most tracks. The album would be more enjoyable, I'm talking "poor decisions" type lyricism. But Mural is classic nevertheless.

I'll take "Elitist" as a compliment then. I feel highly about myself as should anyone of us.

But you are using the term incorrectly. I have not stated I am superior to anyone. So if articulating myself is what you say it is, so be it. Sounds like simple insecurity/deflection rather than speaking on the topic at hand. No constructive critisim, just critism. This "debate" has ran it's course.
