Lol...y'all Lupe stan's nerdiness got Mel back to hating Lupe quick
:laugh: I been saying nikkas on both sides taking the shyt too far and too serious...this vid is proof of it....but imma keep it 100 tho...not everybody gonna be into the shyt but all the excuses seem damn near as forced as nikkas sayin the rhymes are...cause I've literally thruout the history of my life have witnessed nikkas go hard over rhymes they don't fully understand repeatedly since the 90s...ive seen various groups and artists over the years get away with people sayin they dropped classics or dope shyt without people fully understanding everything they said...from Bone Thugs..to Organized Konfusion and Pharoah Monch... to Camp Lo....and the list goes on and on...shyt... @hexagram23 is a undeniably great poster...one of his fav rappers is Andre 3000...not only does that nikka get alot of undeserved GOAT comparisons...he has no solo hip hop albums..barely has any solo hip hop songs...and the same shyt people doing wit this Lupe song...people do with Andre 3000 lyrics...lol..every verse that nikka dropped since he stopped givin a fukk about rap..gets overanalyzed by his fans...he said the shyt out HIS OWN MOUTH..lol...he said people look more into his lyrics than what's really there...so all this shyt is just hilarious to me from a hip hop artist and fans point of view...it makes everyone look stupid imo...

Breh I was content with letting the Lupe fans live....peeped the album, thought it was :ld: and basically avoided the official thread because I didn't want to rain on their parade. Then I seen comments like :krs: "if this shyt came out in the 90's, it would be the most revolutionary hip-hop album of all time!"....I can't let shyt like that slide....because it's going above and beyond stanning into rewriting history, which grates my nerves.

And Andre is the GOAT. :ufdup:Well not the GOAT, but him and Posdnuos from De La Soul are my two favorite MCs of all time.

here's a clear example...this is with Bone Thugs...now..every nikka I knew liked Bone Thugs..shyt..even older people liked Crossroads....a nikka like me was a big Bone Thugs fan...but I was one of the FEW nikkas in my hood who could spit they shyt verbatim..and that's from the young cats to the older cats...I dare a nikka to go to any fan of the song Crossroads..go to someone who been a fan of that song since it came out even...and ask them everything that was being said in that song...and that song was fukkin POPULAR as hell..like worldwide popular...it's a classic record...ask someone who loves that song...to repeat everything that was being said in that record...I bet more people wont know than those who do...

im not shyttin on u for feeling that way about Andre bro...see..I understand why u feel the way u feel about people sayin that about this Lupe album...it's ridiculous to say cause theres nothing revolutionary about it...even tho I think its brilliant..but im being realistic.......but...keepin it real wit u..most of the fans of the album stayed in the thread...except for maybe like 1 thread...the only people who was making seperate threads about the album was people who either didnt like it..didnt like the love it was getting in the official thread...or trolls...people say dumb shyt about every new album that comes out..but it seems like this is the one that got people in they feelings about it..and the only people really making separate threads about it are the people saying they aint feelin it..

The post you're referring to wasn't even about T&Y though

@GoldenGlove

It was about "The Cool", whatever. There isn't an album in Lupe's discography that would be considered "the most revolutionary ever!" if it came out in '94.

Center self, inner self
Neither were particularly popular either....and again, this isn't a popularity contest....but no fans of those albums were trying to beat people over the head with how great they are. They had their small fan base, the rest of the world was listening to BONE, Pac, BIG, Wu, Nas, Jay, or whatever....and all was well with the world. But it's 2015, and everyone has access to a computer, so they need to tell you how you don't "get" his lyrics, or you aren't smart enough, or all kinds of other weird shyt....and generally try to make him and his album more important than they actually are.

I said in another thread I feel the same way about Lupe's lyrical skills as I do about Eminem's technical skills. It's impressive but I don't feel anything at all when I listen to it. It's like watching "Jeopardy" with a really good contestant.

I'm confused on whether u like the album or not :mindblown:
