In terms of those artists I was speaking overall. Skill wise I'd probably put nearly all of them above Lupe too. Particularly MC's like Pun, Z-Ro, Saigon and Last Emperor etc. I think it's what's defined as skills, I take a lot into account, lyrics, flows, flavour, vocal projection. I think it's just a case of people viewing skills/ability differently. I respect Lupe as an MC and like him when he's at his best, I can't say though that I feel he's displayed straight up more skills than an artist like Pun, Pun was murdering everything at an incredibly high level to me consistently while I think Lupe has his ups and downs. To each their own though.

Lol it's not opinion's aside, I don't think he is 1 of the greatest in terms of skill, I think he can be great definitely on his day and he has shyt I like, but I don't think it's conclusive he's in like the top 5 of skill or anything, but people are always gonna have opinions and debates, nothing wrong with that, if you think he is that's all good, at least can agree that Lupe is skilled on his day, the differing views come into play when comparing that skill against others that are highly skilled, I definitely think Lupe has talent certainly.

Lupe, Kendrick, Aesop Rock have always come across as watered down variations of Aceyalone/Freestyle Fellowship to me. They arn't anywhere near as good with the lyrical metaphorical raps as they are tho..

Always thought that was weird because of how hard Lupe stanned Nas, plus Lupe was fairly visible in the mainstream for a while there.

Sometimes, instead of just being obsessed fans of certain people and attacking anyone who says anything objective about them, why not consider the source first? If Lupe Fiasco, someone who probably has the most potent pen ever on some strictly writing lyrics/wordplay ish, is politicin with you about lyricists and bars and all that then yeah, he probably knows what the hell he is talking about and you should probably keep that in mind before responding emotionally because he told the truth about your idol. Everything he just said in them tweets I read was 100% on point, from his take on Kendrick, to Eminem's rare, yet static, multisyllabic style back then becoming the norm over the years, etc...
