I fukk with Lupe but no
Freddie Gibbs has a better catalog and I wouldn't call him top 10
MF Doom has a better argument for being top 10

ALL CAPS when you spell the man name! So I know you’re not serious

If you heard one Gibbs album you’ve heard them all. He isn’t on the tier Lu is or has had the impact or influence.

F&F mixtapes
F&L
The cool
T&Y
Drogas wave
Drill music in Zion
Samurai

Nothing Freddie has made comes close to the creativity and raps Lu has.

eh, I'd say they are equal. Gibbs has early mixtapes too. Lupe at his best blows Gibbs out of the water in regards to concepts for songs and vocabulary but until his last few projects Lupe had a tendency to drop bloated albums. Freddie doesn't have anything as bad as Lazers. I'd rather listen to Bandana than any Lupe album besides T&Y, Samurai or Drogas Wave and even DW got a few songs I don't like. Wav Files >>> any Freddie song. If he could keep that consistency over an entire album he'd the fukkin GOAT.

If we just going off impact and influence Young Thug > Lupe :lolbron:

Nah... Lupe's classics were too early in his career for him to stay relevant. Nas had a great run in the last five years that re-establishes his legacy and makes his arc in hip-hop richer. Lupe don't have that. Lupe is Nas if he got bodied in the Jay-Z beef. He still nice on the mic, but we buy into his potential 'cause he a lyrical miracle backpack rapper that got some great cosigns. He Big L if Big L didn't die. Lupe is Canibus without the LL diss.

Lupe is all the rappers who had a great start and fell off before he actually was supposed to get the fame to match his talent. He like a Mase feature on a Bad Boy record at the height of Biggie fame. He nice, but he always make you wonder "what if" and stans let that fill in the gaps for his career.

Woulda loved to see Lupe get on some harder beats and keep his writing focused, he ain't have to dumb it down... Food & Liquor is just aiight..

- T&Y is his best album and that came at the tail end of his career.
- Nas legacy was already set in stone. As a Nas stan that hit boy run could completely disappear and I wouldn't notice.
- As a Canibus fan, the comparisons are off base as fukk, artistically, commercally, everything.

Cambatta reminds me more of Bis without the initial fanfare.

I think drogus wave is his best album personally but I agree

I've come to the realization that there's no point arguing with Lupe stans. They'll earnestly tell you forgettable bullshyt like "The Greatest American Rap Album" is a classic. They're too far gone.

Naw it’s not he has 3 albums I don’t run back like that, but has 5 mixtapes and 3 classics imo (F&L, TC, T&Y) and drogas wave, samurai, and DMIZ albums that are great to classic status.

That’s a hell of body of work. Same way I feel Jay has Vol2, those 2 r Kelly albums, kingdom come, Magna Carta bs, and dynasty album I never run like that he also has 3 classics (RD, BP, WTT) to 6-7 great to albums.

Those few duds don’t discount the amount of greatness in their discography. Plus they rap at a higher levels than their contemporaries and it’s not close.

Lupe >>> Gibbs and no disrespect to DOOM
