This isnt an unique tragedy. Necklacing is common place in parts of Africa. Especially in South Africa. Zimbabwean migrants were necklaced in their hundreds in and around 2008/9. Why? The locals claimed that they were stealing their jobs.![]()
i dont know much about that honestly but this is the only time i ever seen it on video so outside looking in it is pretty unique
If it wasn't caught on tape neither of us would have known that it happened. It happens a lot but rarely gains media attention. That's the thing and that's why I posted it on here. It needs to get worldwide attention to shame the Nigerian, and other African nations, governments into actually looking at, and fixing, the problems that cause it to happen in the first place.
1- Vigilantism.
2- Police Corruption.
3- The sense of mob rule that exists in large swathes of Africa.
Now, we can all blame it on colonialism. That is the easy way out. Or we can get real about the problems that we, as a people, face in our native homeland. I would rather we did the latter and not the former.
i do think it would be good for more people to be aware of it but all that attention drawing doesnt seem to ever end well
one thing will lead to another and i can almost garuntee which ever outside source jumping in will be trying to gain control and abuse that power instead of helping that community gain stability and when i say outside source i mean not apart of africa
What's the deal with the tires
