The Ummah!
it amazes me that nobody just makes it publicly known that Lyor is a piece of sh*t, so before future artists sign with him they know the deal.

getting 10% of 30k a night is not caking breh

again... do you realize how much money a typical album release cost? he already paid that.. he already lost that when they didn't sell... fukk future... they not doing the game's numbers... they not doing rick ross numbers... they not even doing logic, travis scott, jay rock, pusha t numbers

this is lyor, def jam, cohen..... he don't give a fukk about making 10k off your show... 1k if you doing a club... if he did, either one of them would be on a promo cycle right now... you gotta promo songs and material and the new album before you even start getting it to stores.... i'm not even sure they have a album name and title in the stash right now

i'm not wishing bad on them... i'm spitting facts from what i know that's going on... what's been going on... how it will continue to go out

there's 50 states in america... just cause you popping on the net and in 15 states, has no bearing on the other 35 and the entire globe... even a shytty release will cost a label 750k.. again a low ball

so you are right in that... they aren't completely shelved... he'll let them do their little shows and try and get their buzz up... but if it don't reach a fever pitch... where metrics can be measured... you will NEVER see an official album again

i wish it wasn't this way... wish we could get 3-4 albums and nikkas didn't have to worry about sales, but art... but blowing 3 milly on videos in the 90s/00s ruined all that shyt... now its simply cold hard numbers and fukk anything else... straight investment banking

Crazy thing is all of these artists lie about how much show money they even get. Dudes will say they get $10k or $20k a show when in reality they're actually walking away with only around $2,000 *IF* that. Then that money has to be split between their team. If all of these rappers were really getting $100k every 3 months then why are they all broke 2-3 years after their last dealing in the industry? People just want to believe whatever rappers tell them & labels let them lie to add to their perception but most of these dudes are struggling & broke as hell which is why they HAVE to work so much & even then when their run is over they realize they would've made the same money working at McDonald's...

Like how can you believe Young Thug is popping like that with so much "buzz" when his mixtape sold less then 20k first week? That's not poppin' at all but dudes see fake Youtube numbers & fake IG followers & likes & believe these dudes are doing the damn thing when in reality they all have shytty slave deals. These young dudes are signing any & everything just to get a little fame & even the ones who are making ok money don't realize when their run is up the label will send them that bill for what they owe them at the end of their careers.

All these rappers claim they're doing this & doing that when they're really just being extorted until they're no longer profitable & then that's when you see the real story behind the illusion.

#1 way you can tell what deal they got.... what was their buzz BEFORE being signed

if you step to a label and you doing 30k indy... you don't need them... so they are going to kiss YOUR ass to help you (and them) push 100k think like a big market artist, suddenly getting dropped/released from his album

if you a nobody with 1 hot song they like.... you got no bidding war for you... no numbers on record (sales/paid shows)... you about to get the rape deal.. cause what the hell else you gonna do? where else you gonna go?

now for show money.... that's 50/50 it all depends on a the venue and what was set up for you...

lets say you on the puff daddy nationwide tour... you opening up... but you opening up in stadiums... you might just get 50k-70k a show... with a ryder... cause puff knows you gonna be in 30 cities in 45 days... you gotta bring a dj, tour manager, backup dancers.. crew... it's a grind.. you gonna be eating on the road, buying new gear on the road, partying on the road... and you doing sets on stage... packing in 10-30k people an event

that's what you hear rappers brag about

problem is..... how often are they on that type of major tour? not often.... in the off time... they doing clubs for travel expenses plus 5k

ain't too many rappers, unless they MAJOR (top 10 in sales)... that won't come to your town if you offer up a flight for 3, 3 hotel rooms, 5 stacks in cash, and they gotta host or do a 30 min set

but they'll never brag about that price... that's the every day price... they quoting the tour prices and shyt

Remember Bleek trolling Dame with the jacket situation

The look on Dame's face in the cut :dead:

He saw exactly what they were doing and said something. I can't imagine many "bosses" speaking up like that today :francis:

Yo, the cutting back and forth between the bus tour had me rolling :laff:
