Idk how nikkas keep signing with these slime ball Jews who only exist to jam nikkas careers up and leech off their creativity.
aren't you a white guy from england? why you keep saying the n word?smacc who is this nikka
no shelf them to save your damn money and say fukk them... unless of course they become big, then you still own themSo shelf him in order to create a bigger buzz and eventually drop the project?
no shelf them to save your damn money and say fukk them... unless of course they become big, then you still own them
it's like this
company LENDS you 1 milly (first problem artists have, forgetting this is a loan and not a paycheck)
company DEMANDS you at least give back the milly later... but really wants you to give back 1.5 or more (return on investment)
artist sales are shytty... artist makes back 100k, 250k, 500k back... still short
well now the company has two options... if they truly believe in you and like you, well here's another 500k or even here's another 1 mil... try again homie... we love the music... you're a great artist... you bring us money other ways... plus you on tv, features, clubs, you blowing up breh... we got you (but you still owe that money back)
orrrrrrrr... company never saw you as more than a check... and you lost our fukking money... and we have no belief if we give you more that you'll make any money.. your buzz window has closed...
well now we not letting you put out no product... we not wasting that money no more... and to take it a step farther, we own you and your music... so if you think you gonna give away 16 tracks for free, and then tour off that, and get more features off that, and live off that.... nah nikka... you not getting any money/exposure out here unless we getting a piece... and we also not dissolving your contract so someone else can pick you up for free, and make money that should be ours
welcome to the shelf
now there is a way to get off the shelf... you either keep grinding with no label support, build your own buzz up, and create another monster smash... then the label will suddenly have a change of heart and back you again
or you make it so fukking bad for the label... getting on radio, tv, interviews... just shytting on them... going up to the office tearing shyt up... giving them all the worst press they ever had... and then they'll drop you... but don't think that other labels didn't see you doing that... and don't think it don't ruin your value as well
music is a business.... first contract is usually shyt money with 4-5 albums required... but the label has all the say on if they'll count and album or even accept it and put it out... in the meantime they own your name, rights to your image, and rights to all your music... so if you think you just gonna be dropping free shyt and living off that... they will shut that shyt the fukk down if they want to... most just see a benefit so puff ain't shutting down french's free tapes... and lyor ain't stopping fetty's tapes cause he made that money
but migos getting all that money poured in... plus i'm sure lawyer money... plus i'm sure extra money after versace blew.... then coming out and doing 30k... lyor ain't about to invest another damn dollar in that shyt.. migos is played out, they made no money, and there's no hit on the radio that says they'll be making any soon
welcome to the shelf
But lyor ain't losing no money promoting thug or migos they don't got no promotion. Or very little promotion. And I'm assuming they recouped or are close to it. Migos and thug have had songs that have done well.
My point being they at least got some amount of buzz. That's undeniable. So why not strike while the iron hot?
I'd rather have a piece of 50k sold then a piece of nothing.

Funding
The company is getting backing from a wide range of investors; Google (which has put in around $5 million),[citation needed] investment firm Columbus Nova, Israeli-American hedge fund billionaire Noam Gottesman’s Toms Capital, former Warner Music digital chief Alex Zubillaga, Kemado Records' co-founder Andres Santo Domingo and several other investors.[citation needed] The investment agreements were pulled together by media investment banker Aryeh Bourkoff and Ori Winitze] of LionTree
In February 2014, 300 signed a deal to partner with Twitter that will allow 300 full access to the company’s data—including information unavailable to the public, such as tags that reveal the location from which a tweet was sent, in order to discover artists at an early stage and help develop them
perspective mostly...Migos and Young Thug still relevant, but 300 looking at people like Future and Fetty and thinkin they need to be that hot before before we let them drop

breh the iron ain't hot... at allperspective mostly...Migos and Young Thug still relevant, but 300 looking at people like Future and Fetty and thinkin they need to be that hot before before we let them drop...300 is a horrible company...don't know what the fukk they doin'...
they could easily drop all these free tapes on iTunes and collect, but it'll count against they contractually obligated albums if they do, and they only wanna drop those if that artist is hot like a Future or Fetty...they need to realize that it just ain't gonna happen and let the boys do they thing...
breh the iron ain't hot... at all
that's what YOU say... numbers (the only buzz a label cares about) would say you're dead wrongThug buzz is crazy. Migos just got new life when offset came home.
If u got the best dope out, (crazy buzz)
U get rid of that shyt no? (Drop projects)
