I think instead of January 6th, they might try to storm state capitol buildings in December when the states are certifying their results to send to the US Congress. That would be easier than the US Capitol.

The states could deter it by getting ahead of the game and announcing increased security and threatening to jail anyone who does this.

I've actually read parts of that book myself and a large part of the book is Hitler outlining the steps needed to create an "Aryan" fascist movement as opposed to Italian fascism where ethnocentrism isn't as prominent. He outlines, in details, the steps needed to come to power.

Knowing Trump and seeing how him along with all these far-right power brokers are moving, they are definitely taking cues. That book wasn't just endless amounts of racist screeds but also provided philosophical arguments and political strategies to implement an ethnocentric fascist state.
