A contractor giving gifts to a state employee is murky, no argument there.

But is there a conflict of interest for Michael Roman? That's what needs to be established with regards to having someone other than fani willis handle the case. If the other lawyer worked for Michael Roman, and said lawyer was having an affair and paying for trips with fani than you would have a much stronger case for a conflict of interest.
