I know what he means and all but he didnt have a move he could score with every time and he also had a size advantage over his opponents that Dwight doesn't have. I just don't really understand the reason for the Shaq/Dwight comparisons.
He doesn't have the offensive skills of guys like Al Jefferson or Marc Gasol and he doesn't have the brute size or force to overcome that. He's still one of the toughest centers in the league to handle offensively, not that its saying much.
The comparisons are more circumstantial than anything....
A center drafted No. 1 overall by the Orlando Magic, uses Superman as a nicname, is known for having a joking personality, eventually ends up playing for the Lakers.....
In terms of their game there is no comparison.
I will say the fukked up thing is that nobody is taking into account that Dwight is coming off of back surgery. He's been healthy, but he clearly wasn't in shape for most of the season. He brought some of it on himself though because there were games where he just flat out wasn't engaged beyond the tip off.
Sad thing is Dwight would have gotta a complete pass if he hand't gotten ejected. The Lakers roster was decimated by injuries and were getting nothing from the perimeter. Plus their "coach" seemingly refused to make adjustments until it was too late.
If he had just took the L and not gotten ejected D'Antoni would be the one getting talked about the most by FAR.
