This is actually false. Other than Shaq and LeBron the Lakers drafted or traded for their greats. They're known for, at least on paper, fleecing teams.

He doesn't have the vocab or the temperament to deal with players who have noticeably lower basketball IQs than his own. That's most of the league at this point. He's inarticulate and cliche so he can't find the right words to motivate or teach this era of player, all he can do is tell his own stories of greatness.
