Mahomes hasn't been close to the best player in any of his SB's. Hurts was far and away the star of the game.

I'm sorry, but he did nothing yesterday to move himself up the list. He wasn’t bad or anything, actually he was good. But the running game and Andy’s brilliance made the game extremely easy for him.
You're completely ignoring he was playing on a high ankle sprain, which usually puts people's asses out for close to a month. Mahomes was excellent yesterday, all things considered.

Not to downplay Hurts who was phenomenal himself yesterday

Everywhere. Until recently, we heard everyone get blamed for the Packers failures except for the QB :comeon:
Everywhere on Earth-Two?
No doubt!

There's alot of measuring awards going on here. Ton of cats on here and on TV supporting their stance of Mahomes as already Top 3 based on his award count. If we gonna do that he ain't past Johnny U yet, if that's the bar nikkas wanna go with. I just think it's important for cats to provide real context in these conversations, and in the case of Unitas appreciating that he was that "never seen anyone this good" guy for the people watching him in real time in that era...

That said, Pat's earned all the respect in the world as an All-Timer just 6 years in. The longevity absolutely is part of the equation thouhj, how long can he keep this level of play running? I don't expect him to fade anytime soon but it's not a given he's playing this highly for the next 10 or more years...

Rant over, not directed at you, just the general discourse on here!
I was just nitpicking that one little detail lol I don't know all that about Johnny U really but looking at accolades yeah he doesn't get mentioned enough relative to what he did.

No it isn’t. Yo man, I know you’re a Peyton guy and you’re a good poster but stop cosigning this guy’s stupidity. It had nothing to do with eye test. They compared Brady to Joe by his second ring. They wouldn’t put him over because no one liked the Patriots and the media loved Montana. Also, it was simply confirmation bias. Jemele Hill said this well on her show with Michael Smith years ago. Her fellow media members just won’t accept that this guy no one saw coming became this good so they attribute it to everything else.

Mahomes and the Chiefs are better liked. Thats all there is to it. Like I was trying to ignore that dude and you keep propping up his idiocy in this thread.

Ain't nothing I'm speaking idiotic I'm speaking facts

He was the best player on the field when they lost against Tampa
Nawl, Lavonte David or Shaq Barrett prolly was

Mahomes displayed his greatness tho. Andy Reid’s inability to adjust the offense with their o-line issues caused them to collapse like that

Everywhere. Until recently, we heard everyone get blamed for the Packers failures except for the QB :comeon:
Rodgers failures = 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022. So basically his past 4 seasons have been on him. 3 of those 4 years he had a defense and he couldnt capitalize.

2011 = defense and WRs who had like 10 drops that game.

2012 = defense (kaepernick made history)

2013 = defense

2014 = coach, special teams and partially Rodgers/offense.

2016 = defense but they should of lost in Dallas if not for Dallas being Dallas. Rodgers did better vs ATL then Brady did in the SB. only difference is Packers defense couldnt stop a nose bleed while Pat defense only allowed 21 points all game.

The consensus is in his prime, he was wasted behind mediocre talent, coaches and all time bad defenses.

2019 and on is all on him and most Packer fans have came to this realization.

I’d argue we don’t need Patrick to stay around for 20 years like Brady to give him the title of the best ever. Another chip or two and I’m giving it to him.

This.

Even in the Super Bowl against the Bucs, he had an incredible performance in a losing effort.

His no feet on the ground, parallel to the ground throw was the best throw I've ever seen.

What was Peyton’s playoff pedigree?

Damn sure not his regular season one. Anybody that was around back then was wondering why can’t he create the same magic when it counts?

He won in 06 and that got him off the snhide. Broncos carried him to the second

It's funny when people bring up what Mahomes productivity may be like without Andy Reid.

Bro, the Chiefs jumped 17 spots up in the draft to get this guy.

Sean Payton has gone on record saying they really were hoping Mahomes would fall to them with the next pick. Dude even told Drew Brees.
"When we evaluated him, he was clearly an elite player, the best quarterback I'd ever seen on college tape," Payton said.

Payton talked about how he made then-starting quarterback Drew Brees aware of the Saints' intentions in the draft room.

Two of the greatest offensive minds the NFL has ever seen basically were desperate to land Mahomes.

That says something about him as a QB no matter the system.

There is no adjustment when you missing bookend tackles.. You cant replace that, lol.. One you can scheme around, both against a nasty pass rush? its over, lol
