Aaliyah was only in the game for seven years, and 5 of those years she took a hiatus. Beyonce, including Destiny's Child, was in the game for 15 years! thus, more exprience. And Beyonces voice wasn't better than sh!t. Cut that out. Neither of them were known for being amazing singers back in the 90's. I'll even give THAT credit to Monica.

And Aaliyah's voice was improving before she died.

Compare.

BTW this is the song that IMPRESSED Whitney Houston, before you even talk sh!t about it (which I know you will)

you are right, in the long run Monica did have a better voice than all them singers. I would even say now Monica voice is still better/stronger than Beyonce screaming self today.

But Aaliyah's At your best is so angelic :ahh:

I find it interesting that Wacky D has a lie on the majority of posts in this thread. From "Aaliyah was hoping to go gold," to "last album still couldn't crack a Millie," to shytting on her dancing even though the only female performer who was on her level or better back then was Janet. Yet through all the slander he has only admitted to being wrong about one thing...and don't understand why someone would say he can't admit to being wrong. His biggest lie tho is him claiming to be a fan of hers...can't be true the way he's bashed her throughout this thread.

I wonder when he's gonna admit to :troll:ing

Problem with your assessment breh is the fact that Biggie is a much better MC than Aaliyah is a R&B singer.

In reality loads of grown, mature women love Beyonce.

truest words spoken in this thread.

this place is @$$ backwards.

When people think of her it will remind the listeners of a particular time of the 90's when that time period was obviously her biggest hits. Just like when people think about hearing their favorite Beyonce song, they think of a time in the 2000's.

well u could say that about any artist.

Aaliyah was only in the game for seven years, and 5 of those years she took a hiatus. Beyonce, including Destiny's Child, was in the game for 15 years! thus, more exprience. dont try to twist chit around. youre counting all those years that beyonce was around after aalyiah's death on the slick. and its pointless because beyonce was singing better than her the whole time, long before she died. this is why i dont bother with people like you chump. you knew exactly what i meant.

and aalyiah was around long before '94. she was on star search in the '80s!!! and shes barry hankerson's niece!!! he had her singing with gladys knight on stage long before '94!!!! if she didnt have it by 2001, obviously she was a lost cause.

and if you know me so well, you would know that i could give a flying f**k about fake industry props. especially considering aalyiah's bloodline. lol.

Talentwise though, its clearly in B's favor.
Vocally she shat on her, and dancewise as well. Even back then.
B has gotten better control of her voice over the years, cuz back then she used to oversing.
A didn't even have that option, poor girl.

If A were alive today, she'd likely be Brandy status, respected by the olderheads, but a relic to the youngstas today. But i doubt that as well, since A never had the skill with her cords that Brandy had.

tha-tha-tha-THATS ALL FOLKS!!!

What did I twist around? Like I said, Beyonce aint sung better than sh!t. Post proof to prove otherwise.

and Destiny's Child were in the game as well, they was on star search the same time Aaliyah was. :noah: Like I fcking said, Beyonce been in the game longer and has more expirience.

You don't have to g!ve a fukk about industry props lol. Just know that the best female singer of all time spoke highly of the person's voice that YOUR bashing.

Problem with your assessment breh is the fact that Biggie is a much better MC than Aaliyah is a R&B singer.

And Jay-z is a better rapper than Beyonce is an r & b singer. What's your point?

That Giving up link for A sounded decent, but it was studio. Alot of people sound decent after being filtered through a studio.
Live is where the checks are cashed or bounced, and Bey is the standard for live performances.
A at the time of her death, was mediocre leaning towards poor in live action.

Not in the 90's she wasnt. Are you n!ggas not getting the point? :usure::usure::usure::usure:

I never liked these comparisons because Aaliyah never had had a chance to reach an actual peak/prime because she died so young and so early in her career.

Most of y;all are riding Beyonce because she's current and we actually had the chance to see her evolve as an overall artist.

.Back in the 90's, Beyonce was average at best. Nothing was amazing about her back then. Her performances were basic, her live singing was offkey, and her dancing wasn't even mentionable. Post me a live performance of Bey in the 90's that makes her the "standard".

Who's sayin' she was the standard in the 90s tho?

Nobody said that... but what does it matter how she was 14 years ago... you know how LONG ago that was? I'm not sayin' it means nothing, but you talkin' like if somebody wasn't great from day one, they can never do anything great ever in life. It's that same argument people try to put up about Jay with that "he wasn't on top of the game in '96" shyt... and even Jay himself would admit that, so it's not like that's some best kept secret. You talkin' about "back in the '90s, she didn't do this or that"... but she's doing it now, sooooo ??? :manny:

And I'm not a fan of Beyonce at all... no beef with her or her music, it's just not my thing. But let's not act like she ain't on her shyt.

I will never get tired of this song no matter how cliche it may seem to show it all the time in these threads

:wow:

Even on those two "throwaway tracks" on the Romeo must Die ......I bump those also. Its very few tracks by Baby Girl that I do not feel

Beyonce on the other hand its not very much I can connect with.

Dudes in here can continue to talk about how she is the better vocalist and a stronger range(which is true) but like said before Aaliyah never got a chance to get to the level of talent Beyonce is at now.

Alot of people seem to forget with certain artists like those two.....they get better with age. Beyonce is 30 years old right now, just imagine how much Aaliyah would have improved by that time.......

She died when she was 22 people........ :aicmon:

Edit: Btw in that clip I linked in my post of the montage of clips of her to the One In A Million song......wow in the first 30 seconds just look at her, in all seriousness she just looks beautiful...that hair man :wow: (that Cherokee blood man :wow: )

man, yall need to sit down with all that "aalyiah didnt have the chance to get better with age like beyonce did" talk.

the fact of the matter is, aalyiah was older than her and still not as good as beyonce, even when she was alive.

and yall need to quit with the "i can vibe to aalyiah's music better" talk because that doesnt help your case at all. it just makes you look like you dont know how to be objective. beyonce's music isnt geared towards men, meanwhile aaliyah had hip-hop'ish production. so what? lol. its not about who caters to you the most. this is why i cant take this argument seriously.

its not even a realistic comparison. aalyiah had already reached her ceiling as an r&b singer, and she wasnt even on beyonce's level when she passed, let alone now. aaliyah would be making pop music to stay relevant if she was alive today. just like usher.

I find it interesting that Wacky D has a lie on the majority of posts in this thread. From "Aaliyah was hoping to go gold," to "last album still couldn't crack a Millie," to shytting on her dancing even though the only female performer who was on her level or better back then was Janet. lol @ the bolded. youre the stan of stans. this dude really thinks aaliyah was a great dancer, performer & vocalist. its funny but shameful at the same time.
i cant even argue with people like you. just leave me alone after this man.

i assume that youre referring to me when you say wacky d, so i'll respond accordingly.

first, why are you on my d*ck and wacky d's as well? you keep talking chit cuz you know you got DQ'ed from this thread last week.:pachaha:
i fell back on the gold thing. i didnt mention it yesterday because that had nothing to do with the poster i was arguing with. and my point still stood because it still under-sold for back then, up until she died.

i never said the last album didnt crack a millie. nor did i say that i was ever a fan. so quit putting words in my mouth. goof @$$ boy.

What did I twist around? Like I said, Beyonce aint sung better than sh!t. Post proof to prove otherwise.

point?

post "proof" for what? all youre gonna do is disagree. how old are you?

and like i said, aalyiah was singing just as long as beyonce, if not longer. SO AGAIN, YOURE KILLING YOUR OWN ARGUMENT. IDIOT.

no, what i know is that somebody that is most likely a friend of the family, propped her up. so whether those props were genuine or not, its gonna get the :hmm:. youre too caught up in smoke-n-mirrors. but youre obviously not the sharpest knife in the drawer so i wont even dwell on that. and that link wasnt even hot. i was expecting to be  but ended up .
