Do NOT do those standard Science majors like Chemistry, Biology, Physics. There's only 2 paths to that. PhD or working at McDonalds

lol exactly if you dont plan on doing PhD or Pre-med them joints is trash and you will probably end up being a public school teacher which isn't a bad thing as long as you didnt take on a ton of debt

Small (i mean very small) intergrated SOCs do not have the space or resources to house complex instruction sets that we see on today's desktop level chips like x86.

So in order to program them, you need to know machine language and what every single memory address is used for.

I gave an example above of a thermostat but honestly in 2017 those Nests Thermostats can probably run Windows xp :damn:.

Think of something like this

Outside of that, its just good to know.

Call me crazy, but I can't wait to tackle Computer Engineering when I go back to school.

I don't care how dense the information is, if you're using effective study techniques and have a firm grasp of the the fundamental concepts, you can and should learn anything. Learn the basics and constantly test your understanding of the material. If your interpretation lines up with reality, then you get it.

Other than that, don't cram, space out your study sessions at regular intervals and mix in multiple subjects to keep your attention and focus high rather than studying one subject at a time all the time (like saying, "first I'll finish my psych book, then I'll finish my chem book...").

I read "Making it Stick: The Science of Successful Learning" and I've been testing out the methods outlined in the book on other books (like "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living", for example).

Turns out, like many people in our school system, I had gone about learning and studying in a bad way.
This deserves it's own thread. Don't tell me to buy the book, I'm currently unemployed.
