Nahh...sounds good in theory, but that was a lethal situation the moment he got out the car.

Aye, when approaching a scene in which you know someone is wielding a knife, wouldn't it be best anticipate needing to subdue someone, and readying your TASER as soon as you hop out your vehicle?
I see so many incidents with standoffs, where people chillin with a knife and instead of tasering and handcuffing, they talk and talk for minutes to try to get them to give up the knife then they eventually do something aggressive and the cops shoot them dead. I just keep seeing poor critical thinking out of these pigs.

Watching that clip in slow-mo, he just might have saved that girl's life. Unpopular opinion on here, but Lebron probably shouldn't have reacted on this one via Twitter. I believed a false narrative on this incident last night as well and felt like Lebron. Had that cop not shot, girl in the pink might not be with us. A taser might not have prevented that girl from getting a cut or two in.
I dunno, the 911 call was someone swinging a knife, it wasn't someone is stabbing people. Lots of people have episodes where they posture up with weapons, or arm themselves for their own safety. So instead of realizing "alright lemme come out my vehicle with my taser", he came out with the "what's going on what's going on", then when he saw girl going off with the knife it was too late to do anything but draw your lethal....
Think this could have been avoided or handled better with proper critical thinking..

Exactly. Looking at that clip, if the girl in pink is my daughter, I'm grateful to the officer. Hate to see a life taken, especially a 15 year old, but she was about to poke someone fatally. We don't have enough conversations on avoiding volatile situations and conflict resolutions. Everything is 0 to 100. They should have stayed in the house.

The new footage looks even worse for the girl, the attacks happened after the officer pulled up, it even makes it look like he tried to stop it.

The headline of "white cop shoots 15 year old black girl" is emotionally triggering and is obviously biasing the perception. If this was a black cop shooting a white person in a similar set of events, I dont' think thecoli calls it anything other than solid police work.
