Didn't Jaleel White feel the same way about Urkel?

I remember reading somewhere that it was Jaleel idea to introduce the Stephan character :pachaha:
That 90s Gangsta shyt changed everyone perceptions of the black experience. I bet Jaleel made them create Original Gangsta Dawg

i didn't watch family matters like that, but jaleel was right to feel that way about urkel. urkel was a lame character and the stephan character didn't offset that. but theo wasn't corny at all.

Not at all. Urkel was a super nerd and mad goofy…. but he did have mad confidence and heart, and was never on no sucker shyt. That Stefan character just highlighted how solid Urkel actually was. The writing went down hill once the Stefan character was introduced
