Yeah dude is a known hoax artist and it was confirmed that he faked the thing.
If he did shoot one, he wouldn't live to tell his story. They are never alone. Brings to mind the unconfirmed account of a park ranger who was with some tourist when they came across one.
Their account says he shot the bigfoot and it proceeded to twist his arms and head off, then snapped his rifle in two, before walking back into the trees.

Forestry brings in a trillion dollars a year. Just imagine how much money would be lost from terrified lumberjacks, fishermen, campers, hikers, and even hunters with 12 gauges afraid to encounter the creature again. They would obviously have to make preservation for them too because of the small number of them. Just look up the spotted owl and see how much the government wanted that to go away because it also effects logging.
