Op left out the real reason he died:

Royal Caribbean crew members also allegedly injected Haloperidol, a prescription medication used to treat psychotic disorders, into Virgil at the request of the ship's captain. Multiple cans of pepper spray were also used on him, Aguilar's attorneys claim.

They injected him with something and pepper sprayed him. Wow :dahell:

The mexican was a dumb ass but the cruise line is about to get sued. Not sure what their restrictions are on Royal Caribbean but on Carnival you can only be served I think it’s 7 or 8 drinks per day. 33 drinks in an hour is negligent. Not sure how you can even drink 33 drinks in an hour.
How do they keep track of how many drinks one passenger has had. Can't they go to different locations on the ship for drinks? He probably had people bringing him drinks when he was visibly too intoxicated for the bartenders to serve him

This just ain't true at all. Carnival has a drink package that cuts you off at 15 drinks. But if you don't have the package you can purchase as much alcohol as you want. It would also be a bytch for them to track as people will buy drinks for their table or shots for friends.

I didn't make it to 30 but back when I was a really bad binge drinker I had over 20 drinks in a night. I had ordered the drink package, but for some reason it wasn't being recognized in the system. I went to customer service and they told me they'll look in to it and to go ahead and order drinks and they'll just comp them off my account. Got out partying, and doing shots all night. Snapped out of it while on the top deck in the middle of the night making out with a woman. The next morning I counted my drinks and had ordered 23.

Everything is tracked on your room ID badge only place they accept cash is in the casino.
So your second point maybe what most likely happened- others were bringing him drinks.

Not sure what's the point of so many drinks on a cruise, you wake up the next day with a hangover and can't do shyt.

This thread is also a reminder of how drinking is embarrassing. I slow way down after I catch a buzz.
