Not sure what's the point of so many drinks on a cruise, you wake up the next day with a hangover and can't do shyt.

This thread is also a reminder of how drinking is embarrassing. I slow way down after I catch a buzz.
That´s why I don´t drink I get a buzz and get sleepy after a couple of shots. I have have a couple of beers before getting a buzz but I wonder why people drink past that.

Even when I used to drink like that I'd never get hangovers. I'd make sure I kept food on my stomach and alternate shots with water to keep from getting too dehydrated. I drunk 15 drinks a day on that cruise and woke up every morning on time and went out on excursions. It only caught up with me one night cause I was out until around 3 dancing and drinking and had a 9 o'clock excursion. Fell asleep on the bus as we were driving around Puerto Rico.

And honestly when you already buzzed/drunk, out dancing and talking and having fun and somebody says let's get another shot it's easy as hell to lose track of just how many you've had because you're caught up in the moment. I've had nights when I hit the 15 limit and had no clue thinking I'd had half of that. Plus for real a lot of the drinks are watered down so 15 and really 15.

I hope I'm wrong and they are held liable.
I mean I get it they have shyt tons of lawyers and lobbyists who will work overtime to say the dude´s weight was the issue. Probably they´ll settle out of court with a couple million to avoid the bad press.

The issue with cruises is that people take them to act a fool. You fly somewhere and you get shytfaced and you get banged up abroad or robbed. on a boat you can act a fool and usually the ship will try to cover it up.

My ex who works on a ship says people steal all the time and unless it´s blatant and something extremely expensive despite all the camera they just tell the victim to use their travel insurance.

This just ain't true at all. Carnival has a drink package that cuts you off at 15 drinks. But if you don't have the package you can purchase as much alcohol as you want. It would also be a bytch for them to track as people will buy drinks for their table or shots for friends.

This is exactly why there is legal risk. They advertise a “responsible” 15 drink limit, but they have no real ability to track or enforce it.

The risk is inherent any time you sell a drink package like this. They're catering to idiots like this and putting other passengers and their staff at risk too.

I wouldn't be surprised if the injured crew member(s) get paid too.

How do they keep track of how many drinks one passenger has had. Can't they go to different locations on the ship for drinks? He probably had people bringing him drinks when he was visibly too intoxicated for the bartenders to serve him
They give you an ID card that they scan at the bar instead of you paying for it. He was only there with his wife and kid and it happened within an hour so he most likely didn’t have random people bringing him drinks. Even if his wife used all of the drinks allowed for her daily amount it wouldn’t add up to 33 drinks. It was probably a dumb ass bartender that wanted to see how much he could drink so they could laugh about it.

I didn't make it to 30 but back when I was a really bad binge drinker I had over 20 drinks in a night. I had ordered the drink package, but for some reason it wasn't being recognized in the system. I went to customer service and they told me they'll look in to it and to go ahead and order drinks and they'll just comp them off my account. Got out partying, and doing shots all night. Snapped out of it while on the top deck in the middle of the night making out with a woman. The next morning I counted my drinks and had ordered 23.
It is true you just stated there was something wrong with your card which isn’t typical. It also happened within an hour not however long you were partying on the boat when you were an alcoholic.

The package price gets sold when you buy the tickets. It is much more expensive than just regular tickets but it allows you to drink 24/7 no extra charge. Breh said I’m making this worth it :sadcam:
Now that I think on it, I've never paid for the package since my first couple of cruises I was under 21 and on my second cruise I learnt how to game the system to get Alcohol so when I hit 21, I opted to never pay for that shyt. No soda package either. I prolly spent more on Alcohol than I should, paying for others (broads), buying drinks for the table gambling and after hour parties on Lido deck and such, but I can see how one can be tempted to just drink your money's worth, same way people look to eat their money's worth with the 'free' food which is included in the ticket. Poor b*stard.

these cruise ships need jail cells smh

They do. :skip: You pass them all the time when boarding on the ship, provided you boarded on the bottom (pause) "Zero" deck usually contains a prison/cell/drunk tank, A doctor room with a table and 1-2 morgue slabs with a freezer incase the recently deceased died on a "Out to sea" day in which the ship might not be able to rush to the nearest port to hand over the corpse to the authorities.
