The laws you're talking about apply more to bystanders, not the people getting drunk that are assuming risk. Its the cars that get hit by drunk drivers suing bars, not the drunk drivers themselves.

Okay I see what you’re saying. You may be right about that. Somebody else posted that the contract you sign to get on board probably protects them from this type of lawsuit.

I’m making assumptions now but if he sat at one bar and had all those drinks within that time frame and there’s a camera there that shows he was visibly drunk and they kept serving him then maybe they’ll have a case. Because a decent lawyer could argue that even with the contract in place it’s assumed that the bartenders would operate in good faith and not help create a situation that could be potentially dangerous for the individual and other passengers on the cruise. It’s a stretch but I’d try it if I was their defense attorney.

Because I think the sedative PROBABLY played a role (possibly in combo with the alcohol). There was 0 mention of 33 drinks or any drinks in that video I think. They also said this happened 1 hour after the ship left the shore, so.. he had 33 drinks in 1 hour? 1 every 2 minutes..?
