He tasted one piece and said it didn't taste beautiful though lol, so I threw the whole thing in the trash and just went and bought him a one from the bakery. It was his birthday...what do I look like getting mad that he didn't like the cake I made for him if it wasn't what he wanted?

i just hate nitpickiness. for instance, it was my ex girlfriends birthday earlier this year. I booked a reservation for the night before and she asked if i could change the date to the day after. i said okay sure but is there a specific reason? like is she busy that night or something?
she said no, she just doesnt ever celebrate her birthday before. she even said she would rather celebrate it a week, 2 weeks after, but she cant do it before the actual day.
me trying to understand, tried to dig a bit deeper to understand if it was a superstition or something. nope...her only reason was that she never has celebrated it before and doesnt want to start doing it now. she even made it seem like i was weird for considering doing it beforehand...whereas its a very common thing for ppl to celebrate their birthdays the week before. I ended up finding a day after her birthday but the whole thing just annoyed the hell outta me and made me see her as a child.
