I dont get why people (men or women) would think it's offensive to be asked to sign a prenup. IT PROTECT YOU.

If anything everyone should have their own version of a prenup to protect their and their family assets. Like if i marry a woman with no prenup, if her father passes away while we are married, his wealth becomes part of OUR wealth which then becomes half mine and in turn ALL mines if she was to passes away.
At least thats the way i look at it.
I have land i inherited from my grand aunt and my father. I'm sure she's probably inheriting shyt from her fam too. WHy would you NOT wanna protect these shyts knowing that most marriages barely last 10 years or less??? Or do i have this all wrong? How do inheritance laws in the U.S. work when it comes to marriage?
Edit: Looked it up . Yeah both men and women would be wise to get a prenup
Is an Inheritance Received During Marriage Subject to Division?
Spouses who receive an inheritance are entitled to do whatever they please with it while married. This includes sharing it with the other spouse or keeping it separate. If kept separate, inheritance is generally not subject to division. However, inheritance may become subject to division during a divorce under certain circumstances.
I'd love to see someone marry a haitian and think they gonna take his or her inherited properties in a divorce. They'd find out quick why inheritance is one of the leading causes of murder in rural areas in haiti
