I respect your opinion man but this "Zach Synderesque" view of Superman is why it keeps failing at the box office.
Almost every comic author does the opposite: Man first, God second. And for good reason. Exploring the repercussions of him actually being a god can be interesting but would completely change the tone of the movie. That tone's been done successfully: check Dr. Manhattan in Watchmen, Superman in All Star Superman and Injustice, etc. It can work but you can't go halfway, or nothing makes sense. His boy scout nature and restraint is the only thing keeping him from just killing everyone like Homelander. Why would a god even walk? He'd just float everywhere. Again, if he's a god first, you gotta go all the way.
And his usual restraint makes it even doper when he finally decided to let lose, but that needs to be earned over several movies and he needs to be desperate.
